M122 Ebay Supercharger
It was originally on the Cadillac STS-V's and XLR-V's before the GM bankruptcy. After that, these have been sitting with no real purpose so we thought it would be cool to try to adapt them to the LS platform and try to come up with a more budget-friendly boost alternative. We all see the cheap adapter plates for the LSA conversions and had a similar goal. We were very wrong.
Once we had our mockup engine and the blower, we realized this was not going to be so simple. After a ton of measuring, designing, drawing and numerous design changes, we were able to have them 3d printed to check fitment and ensure every bolt lines up. We looked at countless options from injection molding to 3d printing as well as countless materials to makes these out of. At the same time, we looked at outsourcing the work and machining to cut cost and without sending our work to China, we were unable to do so. We decided that we were going to make all of them, keep everything in house, and be able to control quality. I'll get this out of the way early, The adapters include all bolts and gaskets, and start at $1300 for a set. I know that is expensive for adapters compared to the $200 LSA sets, but there is a ton more work and machining required to make these.
Since then, we have been manufacturing these and have shipped all over the globe as well as be able to add to our product line up with accessories, add-ons and both cathedral and square port designs. These adapters are set up off of truck spacing with minor changes needed to the factory truck style accessories. We are also able to machine the snout of the blower to fit other accessory drives as well. We have yet to push these hard but I can tell you our "test mule", 1970 C10 with a junkyard 5.3 has been running excellent for about a year now at 9lbs of boost and 550+ horsepower with plenty of room to grow.
I will add some more posts to this with pictures so you all can see a bit of the progress but I have a ton more info on our page, MackDaddyparts.com
There is just a bit of machining needed to the bottom of the blower to lower it about 1.5". This will allow it to fit a wider variety of vehicles and even on a truck, where the firewall comes out over the intake. We use a CNC but I have had several customer use a steady hand and a grinder.
You then need to make a block off plate and seal it up. We have blowers in stock and ready to bolt on, or we offer this service.
Hopefully that works. I plan on getting more very soon. I do have more on our page.
The blower comes with a DBW TB but it may not communicate with all TAC modules. We do have a way to use the factory LS TB with a couple of adapters. With the blower sitting on the engine, you can see there is still quite a bit of room to route a 3-3.5" tube around either side, and mount your TB anywhere.
