Brackets for TBSS + LSA
If not (I haven't been able to find one in my own searching), what's involved in swapping to a regular truck PS pump to use the readily available truck bracket kits? The Trailblazer hose config & connection point is completely different... does it require a custom pressure hose? Or can the regular truck hose be made to fit? I have no idea what the differences are at the other end of the hose, or overall length.
What started me down this rabbit hole was seeing the BTR truck LSA kit, then remembered the goofy power steering thing. I don't know why GM used a different pump on the Trailblazer when the truck pump/brackets had been in production for so long - I dunno if it's a fluid supply thing, or a chassis clearance thing.
A LSA bracket designed for the Trailblazer pump looks like it would be really awkward - to get the alternator far enough out of the way for the blower, the PS pump would have to be waaaay out to the side for the weird reservoir to clear the alternator. I don't know if all that would clear the frame/etc.
I finally figured out why the TB didn't use the normal truck pump: it's that stupid front diff mounted to the side of the oil pan on the 4WD/AWD models. Trucks used a conventional frame-mounted front diff. Since I'm 2WD I can use the regular truck accessories, and then the regular truck LSA bracket kits. Still would like to hear from anyone who's done the swap, as there are several different truck pumps for different RPOs. Also unclear on what PS pressure line to use.
