Default To 5.3 or not to 5.3, that is the question...

So I have an LS1 already...200k miles on it so it’s probably not worth a ton at this point plus I would need to keep the oil pan, accessories, and intake. Would you pull the LS1 and go 5.3 for your sloppy turbo build hoping someone will buy the rest of it or just cam/turbo the LS1 and run it till it dies? Questions questions...

Right around 550-600rwhp is probably where I’ll stay. That’s already more than enough to break the rest of the car 🙂

Turbo the ls1. It should be fine at 600 max especially if it’s mechanically sound. Set of valve springs though for sure. Keep mild timing and a good fuel system. Something like a 7875 vs Or whatever of whichever expense level that suits you. Add some deka 80s. Single 450 ought to get the pump side satisfied.

Procharger at that power level is pretty great if you can find a used setup a lot less wok but a lot noisier at both ends of the car

If the LS1 is still fairly healthy, I'd rather have it over a 5.3.
