What is the recommended 3 bar MAP sensor? MSD? GM? Something else?

Thanks!

can you point to a partiular one that worked for you? i have two of them here and neither really fits the original harness plug (without removing tabs etc.). maybe there were different plugs over the years (99 c5)?

Go to RockAuto and find a pigtail for a LS9 MAP sensor, which is the one listed above, part number ending in 2525. It uses the same connection at a LS3 bolt in style MAP sensor.

If you can get away with a 2.5 bar sensor use the direct drop in from DPE Corvettes. Yes it's a bit pricier than the LS9/LSA map sensor but you also don't have to drill anything out or rewire with a new connector either. Whatever you do stay away from the old block style 3 bar map sensors, those have an 8% drift on either end of their range and are ancient by today's standards.

thanks. im going to order the holley adapter, its on ebay with acceptable shipping.

good to know about the dpe, for next time maybe. the efi-source im trying to avoid because of so much negative about it on the net (whether its true or not).

i need a connector to the ls1 harness like on the left. what is the one on the right? it would probably fit except for the two tabs. thats what i got before and was going to modify, but not sure about the wiring (everybody uses different colors).

as i said, left is ls1 connector on the harness. the right doesnt look like what yo linked to (how would the male go in with these tabs?). i just wonder what it fits on, because it was sold as an gen 3 to gen 4 adapter. the other end fits a 12592525 3bar.

well, whatever. im not so much interested in what the right connector is called as in what engine/car the addapter was intended for.

One side of that Holley pigtail (Post #8) uses a Metri-Pack 150 sealed connector that snaps onto the stock engine harness. If I'm not mistaken, the other side appears to be a Bosch Compact 1.1 sealed connector, typically used with a Bosch T-MAP sensor.

Is the LS9 MAP sensor really a Bosch T-MAP? If so, that is really cool because you could also use it for Intake Air Temp (if GM hasn't de-featured it for only MAP sensor).

If you have Holley EFI then you can use a standard Bosch T-MAP sensor with MAP and IAT combined. It mounts up to a LS intake manifold. There are 1-bar, 3-bar, 4-bar versions. Pinouts and transfer functions are given in the Bosch technical data on the Bosch Motorsports website, https://www.bosch-motorsport.com/

You can see examples of T-MAP sensors at Ballenger Motorsports, https://www.bmotorsports.com/
The actual Bosch part numbers are on the Bosch website I linked above.

This is the connector for the LSA MAP sensor:

https://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/pr...roducts_id/986

Care must be taken to wire it correctly because the LS MAP and the LSA MAP have different pinouts. Two wires are swapped, I just don't recall which at the moment.
