I would suspect you have a slight alignment issue with one of your pulleys.

my first turbo ls, didn't know other had issues with ls belt jumping on high horse power applications. I see lot of people running solid belt tensioner?

Certainly, that's what I'm running . Not so much because I want to but because of the fitment of the turbo/componentry, I didn't have an option for a traditional tensioner. I've seen videos of the front of the engine when people dyno with the automatic tensioners and those things were getting a workout.

I run all gm parts (water pump, tensioner, balancer) and my belt would move 1 rib forward after hard hits. Come to find the tensioner needed to be spaced out a bit. No issues anymore. Throw a straight edge across the front of all the pulleys and see where you’re at.

Its not the tensioner or the HP. The pulleys aren't aligned properly if you are throwing/walking belts. A factory tensioner in good shape will hold a belt past 8k easy. Trying to band-aid fix the problem with a manual tensioner isn't the answer. I like to use TIG welding rod to drop in the grooves. Its pretty easy to see a misalignment this way. Good luck, it can be a real pain!

I had some issue with a straight edge as the pulley face to 1st rib isn't the same on all pulleys. Not that it can't work, but I fought mine forever with that method. I couldn't see how bad mine was until I laid (tried to lay) a few welding rods across the grooves.

I Agree. Just like a Holley Ecu. Deals to be had with anything. Time isn't free either.
