Looking forward to the track results. BTW, where are you getting the rollbar kits? How much? I'm at the point now where the tech guy is getting pretty strict. I'm certain I'd in the High 9's under a full pass but I'll never get a chance to prove it w/o the roll bar.

He's getting the rollbar from S & W in PA. You can buy them in kit form and do it yourself.

Yep, $257 for a 8 point kit.

Unfortunately, the track sucked.
1st pass, transbrake, 3000 rpm, started to pull the front wheels up, then obliterated the tires. Let off, hit it again and went 10.73@148, lol.

2nd pass, footbrake to 1500. Went 9.76@147.52

3rd and final. Tried using transbrake again...no dice. 10.64@135. Aborted run.

16# boost.

Wasn't happening tonight. Will check datalogs tomorrow and see how high IAT's got...

The track was on kill during the day, they would spray and drag every 10-15 passes. If you can make it to one of those events you would proably have a very good day! I think I saw your car rolling by, but man that place got crowded fast and prep went to ****, made one pass during the tnt part after the rental then headed out.

Is 148 new best MPH?

Yeah, it was ridiculous...8 o'clock and still sometimes 2 lines of cars coming in. My wife asked me the other day why I stopped going to Friday night Test & Tunes. I told her it was "teeny bopper night", lol. I couldn't believe the amount of water that was dragged up close to the starting line.

I actually got there at about 4:15, and was able to pit, literally right there at the starting line. I saw the Caddy run once before the **** show, and saw it a few times in the pits, but I honestly couldn't remember if you own, drive, or crew with that car, so as not to look dumb, just stared, and well, looked dumb, LOL.

Definitely going to look into going to an actual prepped day.
My son got video of my 1st run and looks like the whole rear was trying to come out of the car...lol.

Yes, 148 is best MPH to date, it's been 147.

If I could have seen any traction, I KNOW it would have went a new best. Story of my life...The "What IF's?"

I'm trying to figure out what happened to my boost on 3rd pass though.
Made 19# on first 2 passes, and only a "peak" of 16, then sloped down to 12 by end of pass...Only trapped 135, or maybe 138 on that pass...I just put it on the lift here at work and don't see any wastegate lines burned through, or whatever.

I'm getting ready to make a thread on what I saw on datalogs, as far as IAT's, with 4" compared to 3"...

Always feel free to come by and say Hi! I agree, tons of young'ins running around once the sun set. I help with fab work and run the keyboard, its new setup with a slipper clutch with a 4 link rear now so we had some adjustments to make all day between clutch and bar angles to get it smooth off the line. The black LS swapped C7 with us trapped over 170 rolling into it, so a good day all around for our crew.

Here is a.much better video of my ridiculous tire shake.. There's also a run of the Caddy on there

About 3:30 in for my tire, hatch and bumper cover shake, and about 6:30 in for the Cadillac.

Planning to take my son's car next Saturday for it's first ever passes.
Holley Terminator X Fox Mustang
4.8 w/VSR 78/75 Gen2.5

I will be going again the following Saturday for final Streetcar Shootout of the year, and hopefully one more Saturday Test & Tune.

Basically have my car back to how it has been all year, so hoping to figure out the tire spin issue before the last trip.

Just an observation from the video , very little smoke on the burnout - especially the right side . Don't know if that's normal for your car or the conditions, could that have something to do with traction / shake issue? Still hoping that you try the bigger housing !!

Not sure.
These Hoosier Drag Bracket Radials have never made a lot of smoke.. I guess it's their nature?

After doing a lot of reading, it seems these don't like a big burnout anyway, but surely one that isn't on wet ground,, like it was. I think the right side looks like no smoke because it is still in water.

Most every car that was there in the evening was running street radials, it seemed, and 90% of them had no idea WTF they were doing. Every single car that was there making any sort of power, spun on the line...Every single one. It was a total waste of time, aside from me getting data regarding timing, fueling, and top end MPH.

I looked, and stared, at the turbo and turbo piping yesterday, and unfortunately have zero intention of going forward with the housing swap. Housing swap would require me to remove, once again, the entire crossover and dual wastegate setup because that's the only way to get the turbo out...through the bottom.

My 3" stuff is already all back on, including new On3 (Loudmouth copy) exhaust, and my old faithful 3" cutout. As much as I would have liked to try the 1.25 housing, it won't work with the old exhaust without me doing some mods...again. I've already proven the car will easily go mid 9's as-is, and also will already need to slow it down after the rollbar install, to get and stay NHRA legal for next season.

Just figured I'd cut my losses and move on.

If anyone else here wants to do the swap and comparison,, I'd give them a very fair deal on the brand new housing, 4" downpipe, and v-band clamp. Downpipe is heat painted, wrapped, and has O2 bung installed.

Hoping I can get to Cecil before they shut down, Nov 3rd the Hornet goes on the dyno, hopefully
get a safe tune, although its close now. Just hard getting plug readings on the street. I just dont think it has the breaks for a 1/4 pass, so 1/8 and shut down.

I think we're just getting old, lol.
My car has pretty decent factory 4 wheel disc's, and at a buck fifty, I always wonder if 8m going to be able to stop, haha.

I don't know how the actual fast cars do it to be honest.

I've had the Huron v3 AC kit installed with the VSR 7875 1.25AR and the fender exit downpipe. WB bung sits ~5 o clock position. I've had mine installed for about a year now and have put over 3k miles on the car as is. I haven't had any issues tuning with the fender exit DP length and my WB hasn't died yet.

I did this as well. I took a cutting wheel to the factory overflow tank, installed a cheap ebay tank in the spare tire location (behind rear tire), and reinstalled battery tray to secure the battery.

For anyone trying to use the factory radiator in factory location with this exhaust housing/turbo, I had to move the radiator and condenser forward 1.5-2" to make this exhaust housing fit where Huron V3 AC kit has turbo mounted.
