Default Radiator Pressure?

So I upgraded to Dominator and put in a radiator pressure sensor. Thought it would tell me if I lifted a head before too much damage...
at idle 8-11 psi when warm cruising at 1500-200 rpm stays 6-11
driving.. seems it follows rpm curve-wise almost verbatim up to 50psi at about 5000 rpm... boost i hit 8lbs momentarily once
no steam from exhaust
oil looks good
no bubbles in radiator at idle...
pressure sensor is on tank opposite cap and in/out hoses are above and below
Am I missing something? I thought for sure if I was really pushing 50psi radiator would puke in overflow tank but it is dry...
I plugged up another sensor and it read correctly so wiring is good. haven't replaced sensor yet.

Something isn't right, What cap are you running that would let pressure build to 50psi? Most are less than 20lbs before they start releasing pressure. Hell I didn't think a radiator or hoses would hold that much.

Where did you put the sensor?

Griffin radiator with sensor between hoses, there was a bung there.
cap is stick cap so I figured 13-15psi...
I pressure tested system to 30 psi before firing...

So sounds like I need to swap sensor maybe

take a pressure tester and pump it up to whatever and see if the Dominator matches the tester, and then test your cap. It's a sealed fluid system so pressure should be even throughout if there is no air present.

good idea on the pressure tester.. will give that a whirl... I did some reading and saw folks seeing 60psi in the block checking pressures and whole lot of engineering talk behind why that is but never expected these numbers in radiator..

So I get the bonehead award today.. this build has taken me 9 months.. I did my setup in dominator and set sensor for 100psi as i thought that is what I had in there.. checked it today and it is a 30psi sensor. .so guess if I divide my reading by a third I am in decent shape.. updated my tune today and should be better next time... Whew.. that wasn't as bad as I was expecting..
