Default Rod bolts and main studs

I was talking to a guy that does my machine work today and he said main studs, ARP, and rod bolts are mandatory when using Gen 4 rods and pistons in a boosted application. I'm putting Gen 4 rods and pistons in a 2004 5.3 block. I'm taking the rotating assy to be balanced so while everything is up there I want to get everything done. What do you all think? This is a budget deal but I plan on making some decent power. If I end up over 20 lbs of boost what should I be replacing? I'm going to build a better short block later, planning on using the Summit Racing rods and pistons because it seems like they've been getting good reviews.

To me there is no need for main studs and probably no need for rod bolts unless you plan on making 800+ and then I would go with forged rods and pistons at minimum.

That was kind of my thought on main studs, the LS engines are pretty healthy there but I thought I'd ask and be safe. Do you all reuse the main bolt or install new since they are torque to yield bolt?

Mains are torque to angle, not torque to yield. Big difference in that. Main bolts are totally reusable.

I just asked a few of these Q's
https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...stons-arp.html

I detailed what I plan on in the thread but in summary I'm gonna run OEM Rod and Main bolts (will purchase new) on my right around 800WHP 4.8 build.

I made 1050whp with stock main bolts and rod bolts on my SBE gen 4 5.3. Spun it to 8000rpm every time I drove it. Motor was used and abused long before I got it as well.
