P.S. If you want proper Refrigerant-Water heat transfer, get a Plate Heat Exchanger. PHEs are extremely efficient and will work wayyyyyy better than a makeshift solution (dropping an evaporator coil into a glorified bucket). Just type in google brazed plate heat exchanger and you will get a billion results. You should calculate how big it needs to be (along with condenser and compressor size) because Turbos and Superchargers release MANY kW of heat during operation as they compress air, kW that can very easily overwhelm an undersized refrigeration system. This is what a PHE looks like:
If this looks familiar, its because the oil cooler on most LS motors is an aluminum PHE.
Do I need to state the obvious? Do your research before messing with anything refrigeration.

Very interesting. I have used these before in the beer industry, but only with water on both sides. I hadn't heard of running refrigerant through one side. I suppose I would need an NPT to AC conversion fitting and treat the exchanger like it is my evaporator. I will definitely do some more research about it. Thanks!
I ordered a stepper drive chip set but haven't gotten off my *** to change my A/A to A/chilled water in my vette. If I raced it more, I would do straight methanol injection before I do chilled A/W intercooling. I suspect it's as good or better than chilled A/W for less work. If I wanted to get everything out of my setup, I would do both straight meth injection and chilled A/W.
