Default Tbss & boost

I have two questions I will be putting the p1sc procharger on my airboat real soon will my trail blazer ss handle 10 pounds of boost and also will I need to install a blowoff vavle for this procharger? I’ve done some searching but I’m not the best with search engines

LS6 on mine has seen 22 and rarely has seen less than 15. I’d think 10 is nothing on any of them.

I assume since you mention a BOV that you are also looking to put a centri-style charger on the TBSS. You should have zero issue as long as you have an adequate fuel system and octane to support. May also consider some valve train upgrades (springs/rocker arm bushings) if you have not done so and depending on mileage. The last I knew House of Boost was the only company making a dedicated kit for the SS.

15psi on a stock GM NNBS (TBSS) intake and no issues for like 4 years now. Stock plastic are good for quite a bit of boost. It’s the 2 part plastics that have issues like Dorman, fast (I haven’t heard of any fast failures) but anytime you have a removable 2 part design with a seal you can have a failure. Stock GM are sonic welded and not removable so no failure point.

I would normally say you would have a significant advantage with a boat engine, because of an endless supple of cold water to cool your air charge. In the case of an airboat, I question this, as they are commonly used in areas where a water intake would be easily clogged by any variety of swampy stuff. Have you thought about your intercooling situation? As for the BOV, it would not be strictly necessary, but is almost always a good idea.

Hardest part about cooling on an airboat is getting the air bubbles out. other than that you have a 60-whatever inch fan moving all the air you could possibly need. no sense in messing with trying to pull water externally.
