Thats making some steam! I run a pair of the cast 78/75's "G3 mirror" units on a 5.3. Glad to see what they are capable of! On 15-16lbs I went a 5.75 @ 124 last night and coasted to a 9.5X at 109!

Sounds like the timing was your issue lol.

I've been keeping tabs on your progress - don't know if you remember me from the old turbobuick(s).com days.
It's making enough steam and fat enough that the 15-0 failing back to 5400 on the shift, which is way better than I thought it'd be.

I do, glad to see your still at it! Over the years I've gone looser and looser converter wise. Every time i've picked up, dropped rpm on the shift and not really lost a thing up top slip wise. Not sure what fairy dust they sprinkle in these things but its so much better than the 16% slip Buick days! Running a 20-5, and I feel I could still go looser. Seeing about 5% slip up top. Cruisies great. Temps are great.

Best of luck, sounds like it has room to grow!

Went to the track last Saturday and chased my *** the entire time. I did run the car over the scales and it’s 3640 as it goes down the track. I’m 155-160.
80s need to go - they can’t keep up at 16psi. Hopefully I can pick up some 210s soon, but I might wait for Black Friday.
I need to try 6.5-7 quarts of oil in the pan to see if helps combat the oil pressure from tanking at the launch. It’s got the improved racing baffle on it, and had been fine until the 1.3 60ft.

Thanks. I was considering trying the 10.0 index at the reunion but I don’t think I have enough seat time with this combo to even try hitting a pro tree

Congrats, 1.3 60's, I'd say with some bigger injectors you will be rolling. Nice looking car too.

That was the hope with me as well...unfortunately I couldn't hit a pro tree with a baseball bat, lol. My slow releasing Rossler brake makes sure I could never run a pro tree.

I took the car back out yesterday and learned a few things. The track was busier than I've seen it in years, I actually waited 45 minutes in the staging lanes to run. The car definitely wasn't cool after being in the lanes that long. Everyone around us was complaining about the track prep it was marginal at best. No video, this time.
7 quarts fixed the oil pressure drop or I should say it drops to 40psi and then recovers - that's liveable in my book.
The car will go 1.36 60ft and print 10.0x @135 slips all day on 14psi
I was able to get the bump/creep working and focused on hitting the tree on a couple of passes, and ended up with a .001 light, I just need to focus on the tree and trust the car.
I put 15* of timing in it and it responded - it went 9.90@136.9
On the last pass, I tried leaving at 4400 instead of 4000 and it was too big of a move on a marginal track and did not work out.

Just going through the data logs and figured I'd share this - check out the boost plot. This is on gate without boost control - my 9.90 pass. Leave on 10psi, 12.5psi in 1st, 13-13.5psi in 2nd and 13.5psi creeping to 14psi in 3rd.

Put an EBC on it and that will change, I have mine set for low boost right now at 10lbs. and it hits 10lbs. in first gear by 4,000 rpm if I roll into it and holds it there through every gear until I lift.
Comes in way quicker too.

I've got boost control setup through the Holley. I'm just waiting for bigger injectors before I turn it back on. It's in one of those weird spots, one spring in the gate + controller wouldn't be enough boost and 2 springs plus the controller would be too much.

I don't want to go down too deep a rabbit hole but how much of your cars creature comforts did you lose by going to the Holley setup?
I've been told power windows don't work and the fuel gauge won't work and other odd stuff.

Depends on how much stuff you want to deal with.
I chose to remove the factory computer/dash and used a terminator x with the 6.86 Holley dash. A/c was gone so I ditched heat while I was in there too, made sure I had plenty of room to mount the terminator x behind the dash. My gas gauge is configured in the Holley dash with the stock sender.
I didn’t see the point in spending hours trying to integrate the 20 year old factory stuff.
The only thing I miss is cruise control and for how much I drive it, it really hasn’t been an issue.
The data Holley provides pretty much pays for itself in my opinion. I’d say I might have made 4-5 hits on the street with Holley on 7psi Roughed in the fuel table made a couple hits on the street at 14psi and then took it straight to the track. 3rd pass it went 9s.
I know it’s expensive, it’s a cry once and smile every time you fire it up.

Excellent, I'm already there, no AC or CC and really no heat either, its a street driven race car with power windows lol.
I've got all kinds of inputs I'd love for the Holley to control plus the fail safes are nice. (A2W pump, trans. cooler fan, dual fuel pumps, etc.)
It seems like an excellent value once you tally everything up versus a stock computer.

Just a small update. These finally arrived, but they were held up in customs for a week. Probably time to order an engine diaper, now that I'll have enough fuel to make enough power to actually hurt something.
