Cooling effects of E85 vs non-E 100-116 octane
(9 x alcohol% as decimal) + (14.68 x gas % as decimal) = stoich
For example with 50% ethanol and 50% 93 octane I use 11.84 as my stoich. If I test and know my alcohol content and use this formula to change stoich my fueling is always very close.
The E-type fuels may cost less but factor in the added required components, time for travel to get the drums, the hassle of moving the drums, mixing/testing the fuel and for how little you may be running that car at that level seems C16 would be a break even and require only an additional tune.

for me one of the biggest benefits is actually pretty silly. ethanol exhaust is barely noticeable. gasoline cars with out cats absolutely smell like **** to me now. My daily runs on pump and working on it or tuning it is a total bummer to the point I neglect the hell out of it.
Meanwhile I'm over here
We have another blower car we run on C16 and it likes to be a lot leaner than our E100 and Q16 cars.
Anything we race heavily if it runs E we only race it from E from a drum. Its just always consistent and we know what we have. If its just a street car then we do flex fuel setup and use pump E.
When I told him Ignite Red's last year price was $450 for a 55 gallon drum and that included $35 for shipping he became very interested. That is about $8 a gallon. Ignite Red is E90, 114 octane. He said he thinks a 55 gallon drum of C15 is like $1200.
