Test fitting the T76.
Well I started test fitting the 76 today and unfortunatly i'm gonna have to clearance the frame some. I need to bend/notch it about a half an inch. It bolts up without hitting but it's just about touching, 1/8in max clearance.
Here are a couple pics i snaped quick of the T76, the 60-1 next to the 76 and the turbo mounted.

Yea I had a used on-center housing that he gave me with the turbo since it came with a Tang. housing.
This turbo is freaking huge compared to the 60-1. when i first saw it My first thought was oh S**t it ain't gonna fit. But i got it in there had to pound the frame in just a little bit, not to bad. The sway bar mount also has to be notched quit a bit. All in all i think it fit pretty well. Worked up a base fuel tune for now i'm gonna go out and drive it and see how it feels.

Where is the turbo then, I can't tell from the picture... which side?
Depending on that info, and what motor mounts you run, you might need to clearance quite a bit... My motor torques up a lot more than I anticipated even with using poly motor mounts.

The turbo's on the driverside in the original TTi location. I'm running the prothane mounts but i also have a torque strap on the driverside that keeps the motor from moving to far so hopefully i'll be ok.
Well first impressions driving it last night. Spool up is way slower then the 60. The 60 would start to spool at 2500RPM and hit 12psi buy 2800-2900RPM it came on real hard real fast. The 76 is extremly slow it'll start to build boost at 2800rpm and gradually clime to 12psi at around 3900RPM, it's nice for traction with the gradual spool up but i wish i had full boost alittle sooner.
I'll have to move my timing tables around alittle now since i'm not building boost as low in the rpm band that might help alittle. Even with the slow spool up I'm very happy with the results, i deffinatly picked up ALOT of power over the 60-1 and it holds A solid 12psi all the way to redline.

How big a down pipe are you running with the setup
and muffler setup are you running with ?
Less exhaust back pressure means way faster spool up
With my 6.0l setup it meant 60rwhp uncapped

Well I'm running a 3in DP now with 3in cat back but i have a cutout right after the DP. Havn't run it with the cutout open yet. I want to get it tuned before i do that.

Smokin, that's basicly the same setup i'm running 3in DP with .96 A/R. I think once i get the fueling tuned i'll pick up some spool up time, it's running pretty rich in the low RPMs i'm sure.

I bought the 76 from a guy that works in a small shop in georgia he ordered it for a customer from TTi the guy made a $400 down payment then lost his job so he couldn't pay the balance, So he sold it to me for the balance he owed on it ($800). Kind of a messed up situation but i got a hell of a deal from it.
