My tuner that also owns a performance mechanic shop is actually the one who put my lines like that. I had them hooked up different and he switched them to the way they are now a few months back and he builds alot of cars with much more power then mine. The only thing he mentioned was switching the injectors and adding a second pump in which I already had that planned.
And you may never have any issues and honestly, I hope that you don't.
I'd imagine if your tuner runs it that way it's because he's learned that it works through trial and error which as far as I'm concerned, is far more valuable than theory.
If you think about it, not enough fuel supply is going to cause problems regardless of where the fuel comes in, if you have enough delivery then the layout should be inconsequential unless you really screw it up bad lol.
If you're looking at pumps on E85, take a look at the AEM pumps, they hold pressure higher way better than the Walbro 450 units.

hopefully not, honestly man the truck never really gives me issues, although I do work on it quite often but that's just because I'm never satisfied with it and always adding more stuff and yeh man he's a really good tuner. It usually is hard to get an appointment with him, about 6 weeks out. But its always worth it because I know it will run top knotch when i get it back and I trust his opinion. Everything he's always told me has worked out for the best and I always have an aeromotive 340 in the truck right now and I have a spare 340 sitting on the shelf so I was just thinking of using those too. I had a walbro 450 before and I wasn't satisfied with it.

Or get one of those fancy Motion Raceworks flex sensor bypass units and just stick it in the feed line and not worry about it being a restriction.
Nic, question. Sticking it after the fuel rail before the regulator, have you noticed and difference side to side, from possible fuel flow differences? I'm sure the junk I tune compared to you wouldn't notice or care, but I could potentially see it on a much higher HP situation where even the fuel passing the injectors is considerable. Thanks

I have mine in the return line with zero issues.

Given it's at the lowest point in the fuel system, and the fuel system is designed correctly, neither of which are by accident.

And there is a little pressure on the return side, not much though.

No problem what so ever even on 1500+ rwhp on Ethanol, any restriction after the rails is "shared" by both rails/regulator in this configuration so it balances itself.
