He is pretty confident I will fit in here nicely now! This guy is 6', so a bit shorter than me. I was like what are we going to do when my head still hits that top bar, he said we will make it a convertible LOL
That's enough for me, I will keep updating as I get pics. I will also have a bunch of my own pictures soon when I go out there. Hopefully next week still.
The roof and the wing are both from Kostick composites. Mikes parts are top notch, some of the best carbon parts I have ever seen. The only other parts in the same realm are Ultra Carbon, and they use very similar methods so it makes sense. I wish I could buy all the parts he makes LOL
I tried to find a website or page about them but came up empty. Do they have something that I missed so I can see their other products as well?
Also, pretty damn sweet doing a full chassis car with a 4th gen. It rarely happens so this has been cool to watch.
Kostick is a one man show, and I don't think he really tries to advertise at all.

Its technically a 3/4 chassis, but I know what you mean
Tomorrow morning I am hitting the road nice and early to go check in on the car!! I am mostly going to get fit in the car for things like pedal placement, wheel placement, etc. Unfortunately the seat wont be ready for a few weeks, so I will have to go back for a final fitment. That keeps in the theme though since I am also dropping off all of the parts that I ordered way before I brought the car in, but came too late. I got everything loaded up and ready to go.
This thing looks big next to a couch
Hopefully it will be OK back here
This is the wing, cowl delete, etc
I had forgotten my suit, helmet etc in that pic, but I got that loaded up as well. To say I am excited would be an understatement. I am even charging up the ole DSLR just in case! I should have some pics and maybe even a video coming up soon!
Today was the day!! I got up bright and early, finished loading up my truck and hit the road about 6AM. I grabbed my buddy Lou and it was hammer down to MI with no stopping! We got there a little after 11, so we made pretty good time I would say. We walked into some light chainsaw work being done
Just ignored that and walked past the Batmobile back to my car I wont bore you with all the pics, but I will share some I took with my actual camera.
This is before
With that out of the way, it was time to try and get in this thing. Technically I had already done that, but you don't know that!
"First time" in the car
You probably cant tell, but I didnt fit at first. This pic is probably actually from attempt #2 when they had realize the seat would need to be ALL the way down. The eagle eyed among you will see that I am also hard up against the double frame rail as well as into the door. Jordan was taking some measurements to see if and how much we could move the double frame rails inward. With some figuring done, I took the pics and they cut that bar out.
The smile probably tells you that we were good with those changes. I was able to move my head all around with my helmet on. I had space on both sides now, and that will improve with a seat. Without the seat it was pretty hard to really lock anything in. We got some good info for where I will need to end up, some rough changes to some bars and a rough idea for pedal location.
All in all it was a great day! The car is looking amazing, even better in person. I got to freak them out a bit by not fitting like I had expected LOL. We figured out a bunch of things as well. I cant wait to get back out there in a few weeks with a seat.
Christmas came a little early! The seat that was delayed showed up, and they got right to work getting it mounted so I can go get fit. We were expecting it to come in sometime next week or later, so that was cool. Its a Tim McAmis carbon seat, which is Kevlar lined. It will get cut down later I believe after they do the pour in insert.
The start of the frame
GET LOW
I am trying to work out what day next week I am going back out there to get fit again. Should be a bit easier with the seat in place this time.
That cage is a work of art, I usually paint mine black but I'd be tempted to use a clear for this one.
You ain't lying! A handful of people have said the same. I still think I am going back for the cage, but may go clear for the rear and maybe the 4 link bars and wishbone as well. I haven't fully decided yet though, I still have time.
Made a nice lil round trip to MI today to see the progress and get properly fit in the car. I was excited to see more bars in the car
With the drooling out of the way, I jumped in.
The seat it not trimmed at all so it looks a little cramped in the shoulders, but its really not. It was very comfortable honestly, and I fit really well. We locked in pedal placement and steering wheel location. Its SO nice having a car built for me!!
My friend Chris came with today, He was the one who owned the car before the guy I bought it from. Of course I made him hop in and see how he fits LOL
Some of my favorite parts were sitting there ready to get started as well! Here is the rear end housing, and 4 link bars
Billet face with O-ring seal
And here are the 4 link brackets ready to get welded up and put in
Just a couple more pics because, why not
I say it every time, but DAMN they are doing awesome work! I could not be happier with how its all coming together.
Thanks! Like I have said before, I couldn't be happier with how its coming out. I can be pretty particular, and I haven't seen anything yet that I would change or that I didnt think looked top notch!
I guess I may as well add the pics Jordan posted the other day.
