The Turbo TA is BACK!

And now in the car

Also after some discussion, we are no longer going to powder coat the chassis. There are a bunch of reasons for this, but a big one is welding anything to it later. Like adding brackets and tabs for mounting things, doing a front end later etc. I have actually been stressing out about all the small tabs and brackets and **** it will need, and trying to think of everything. Now I wont have to, and I can handle doing that stuff later.

I am also working on a video for YouTube, which I should have up this week.Anyway, we started today bright and early, and freezing!

The nice thing about leaving so early was the roads were empty, this was 294 just south of 90!

Going through Illinois and Indiana was smooth sailing. Then as soon as I crossed into Michigan it was snowing. Not a big deal, I am in a truck, except that they dont believe in salt out there so it was slick as ****!! I got sideways a few times, and lost count how many cars I saw in ditches!

I managed to make it without too much excitement though, and got to see this work of art!

Kind of my view

4 link bracket in

Front end Monday!?

So now that I got to see it all again, it was time to brave the weather again, which got worse. This was a lot of my drive back through Michigan

Luckily as soon as I hit Indiana the snow and slick road stopped and they just got better the rest of the way home. It was great seeing the car again, and seeing the progress. We also talked about some of the finer details to get a head start on all of that. That is all for now, keep an eye out for a video this week!!

You can see along that formed edge, not great...

This is the other one, with some scratches all over

I realize that I am spoiled with Kostick parts, but these are just not acceptable. I am seeing what I can do about returning these, or getting money back etc. Then I need to decide if I get the ones that Rock Solid Motorsports just released, or just buy a sheet of carbon and make my own. The thing I liked about these over either of those two options is that these wrapped over the top of the door giving it a more finished look. Oh well I guess
Moving on to the better stuff, I got some pics last night mocking up the 4-link!

I don't even know what to say!![img alt="

It looks beat up, but it has a protective film on it. I didn't peel it off, but I looks like they are pristine underneath. Also these are a glossy carbon finish which will better match the interior of the car. The dash is a matte finish, but everything else carbon will be gloss.
Here are both sets just because I have em LOL

One thing I did notice was that the new ones seemed kind of heavy. So I weighed them

4Lbs 14.2oz DAMN! Lets compare to the other set which I noted were very light when I got them.

1lb 11.1oz DAMN! So the new ones are 3lbs 3.1oz heavier. Still way lighter than stock, but for comparison the dash board is 3lbs 3oz for the main body. In order for these to have any rigidity though, they need to be thicker so it makes sense.
Anyway, that is about all I have for now. I think next week I am going to try and get out there to check in on the car. I am not sure how much progress has been made, but regardless I want to go see it. In the meantime I will leave you with one more pic of the rear end

The rear end is a work of art! I don't even want to put it in the car LOL
They moved the chassis the other day, and were working on the driveshaft enclosure yesterday.

When we showed up. I was distracted by the rear end, so here are a bunch of pics of that

We even got the wife to hop in!

You can see the trans was in the chassis there, and also the body in the background. I believe they are going to be getting it back on the table to put the body back on soon, then comes tin work!
On the way home we also met up with someone to get a set of big boy injectors

They are Moran 550lb injectors. I will send them in to Moran to get the full workup before I use them, but I traded my old ID injectors even for them. Couldn't really pass up that deal since that basically makes these free!
All in all a nice lil 550 mile day. Always good to hang out in the shop for a bit and see some of the bad *** projects they have going on.
