Default Vacuum block source on engine?

When setting up a vacuum distribution block on a turbo engine, where do you tap in to get vacuum from?

If it is a factory-ish intake, I come off the old PCV point, being the crankcase ventilation should be going to an atmopsheric catch can anyways - so it usually leaves that barb open. On the old LS6 intake, it is on the PS front right behind the throttle body. For an Fbody it is a 3/8" line off the intake PCV barb to a vacuum block that sits just forward of the PCM on the PS of the engine bay.

It's an old FAST intake, but I'm planning on using that port for a Mighty Mouse catch can. However, I won't be using my purge port, so could I just go with that one? I'll have to run a line to the passenger side, but that's no big deal.

That's what I would do. I like running a slightly larger line to the vacuum block and either of those forward ports should allow you to do that.

GMT800 truck manifold: there is a 3/8 "vacuum" port just above the fuel pressure regulator.
I found a 3/8 x 3/8 x 1/4 TEE, then ran another bras 1/4 TEE into that for Wastegate, BOV.
clean, tidy, and the stock round Vortec cover fit on right over the top.

I tee'd into the large line at the back of the intake for the brake booster and ran the same sized line to a vacuum block which provides a source for everything.
Works very well and is out of sight.

I used a part from Procharger that goes inline on the brake booster hose.

That may be a better idea - I'm realizing I'm going to need a boost line going to the dump valve I'm going to install, and that would work better routed from the driver's side vacuum port to the dump.

I leave the sanctity of the brake booster. In an overboost/missed shift etc... and you lose a boost line, brakes become less awesome right when you need them.
