good compression ratio and cam specs to run a turbo on?

Given the fact that I'm brand new at this and have a whole one post to my name, bear with me in that I'm still doing my research. I'm a med student, so I don't have a ton of time to read up. I'm spending plenty of time in the newbie forum, though. This is a long term project anyway, so I'm not planning on getting ahead of myself.
I am wanting a mainly street car that will also be able to go to the strip for a grudge match every once in a while. Sleeper. So, I don't want an SC bulge. I find turbos more elegant from a mechanical standpoint anyway. Since there's hardly any room in the engine bay of an '04 V, I will probably go with an STS setup. I know plenty of guys on here will probably roll their eyes at that. I'm hoping to in the end have around 700hp; I have no goals of 1,000hp. From what I've seen, I'm guessing 11-13 psi will be needed to accomplish that. I'm planning for a forged rotating assembly(Texas Speed?), and have Tick rebuild my T56 to their stage 2. I figure I'll need 60# injectors, new fuel pump, clutch, and all that jazz. I'm not sure about the cam and heads though. I don't really know what all from the stock LS6 will work for this, whether that be the cam, the heads, or the intake. The real black hole in all of this is tuning. Tuning is lost on me at this point, but I still have plenty of reading to do.
