Default STS getting installed today :-)

Going to Performance Specialties in pottstown, PA today to have my STS kit installed and tunned. There going to be installing the kit my boost gauge new TR6 Spark plugs and MSD wires. Getting it back sat ill post the dyno results as soon as i get it. Kit will be set up to run at 5psi...for now

EDIT: I have been reading alot of posts about the lack of info for this kit so i will try to give everyone here as much info as i can about this kit. I already sent my pics of it to someone to be hosted so all can see. If you want me to try something just post it and i will do the best i can to provide everyone with the answers

Ill post that when i get the car back...cause honestly i dont know he gave me worse case scenario cause he has never done/seen anything like that before. So he overpriced it on purpose and said he would see how long it would take...the dyno tune i think he said $120 hour. I will get back to you when everything is done...he said it might be done today lol ill call in a bit

btw, just so he doesn't bend you over....i talked to an STS dealer in TX and he said that he only charges $300 to install this kit since it's supposed to be a piece of cake and can be done on jackstands.

yes, $300 (not including tuning). the guy's name on here is "tturbo" or something like that.

(i'm still waiting on the verdict for this kit)

yah it should take him 3-5 hours.
so depending on his shop rate $300 + or - sounds right.

Basic kit for an LS1 lists for $3795.00 plus shipping.

Lag is not bad at all. Most who ride in my car are surprised how little there is.
The turbo gets oil from the crankcase. We drill and tap the block off plate above the oil filter that is used for an oil cooler and run a steel braded line to the turbo. We have a 2 speed scavenging pump that returns the oil.
Base kit comes with a 60-1 and .81 housing. You can get different housings, or upgrade to GT-35, t-67, or if you have alot of mods, we can use a t-70. Upgrades are a little extra cost.

Lag is barely even noticable IMO. I think it takes longer for my truck to downshift the 2 gears and take off than it does to hit full boost let alone notice lag.

Quick WOT clip of Z71 STS kit

This was am impromptu clip my buddy took on my way home from getting the kit. I was actually testing it out to see if smoke was coming out of the exhaust so I didn't stay in it for long. Plus i was on the phone with my mechanic hahaha

No lag here. Check the videos. You can hear the wastegate open up as soon as you get on it. With an M6 full boost at around 3000rpms.

Called performance turns out it was running at 5psi plus they tunned it on the dyno using a MAF translator NOT LS1 Edit and they didnt even take it up to redline and it put down close to 450RWHP...so i am very happy with everything. i called ray from performance specialties about the surging and idle of my car. He had me pull one of the spark plugs and check the hoses and everything was fine. So he came to my house from pottstown with a flatbed and said he would try to fix it at my house, if he couldnt he would put it on the flatbed and take it back to his shop. He fooled around with it for about 2 min and then realized that the MAF translator that he put on went bad turns out it was 3 years old and he was going to charge me $175 for it. I think he felt like an *** but atleast he didnt leave me hangin. He ended up disconecting the translator and hooking up the stock wires back and just running it off the PCM for now untill he orders my part next week. He told me to take it easy and not get into to much only if you see a mustang that needs to be put into place . So that is my update for now...ill keep intouch so keep checking back

EDIT: He also said to me that when he put the car on the dyno right after 5500 it went VERY lean. He said that i probably needed a bigger fuel pump or injectors...or a combo of the two

What is your fuel system now? What injectors?

Sounds like he is using his stock injectors and fuel pump.
