The motor is 8.25:1 compression.

The cam is a 222/228 ~580 (if I remember)

The a/f hits about 14:1 and will hang there till the end of the run. Not pretty, but it is costing me alot of power up top.

He runs the 60#s

But..... Mighty Mouse doesn't have to feed a supercharger to make all of his power. He is probably running 95 to 97% efficient on his power while we are running at best ~85% efficiency (most in the high 70's though)

With a D1 at these power levels, when you size your fuel system you have to add 150 to 200 HP right to the top, because that is how much your SC is sapping right off the crank. Alot of people forget their supercharger when sizing fuel systems.

Most supecharger kits that we see make power at .62 to .65 BSFC. So to see how far 60# injectors will get a supercharged car.

For 100% duty cycle:
60lb injectors become 68lb injectors on our fuel pressure.
68lb/hr * 8 = 544 lb/hr
544lb/hr / .65 BSFC = 836 HP.

So 60lb's are capable of providing 836 CYLINDER EQUIVILANT HP. Not RWHP. We'll work our way back to the rear wheels.

Cylinder Eq HP - Supercharger Loss - Drivetrain Loss = RWHP
836 HP - ~175 HP - 50 HP = 611 HP.

So Mototron 60lbs will get you to about 610 RWHP on a supercharged car before calling it quits. However this is at 100% duty cycle. To size you fuel system properly you need to run between 80% and 90% duty cycle at peak power. That would mean you should really only be pushing the 60#'s to around 550 RWHP

A turbo car on the other hand should be able to produce ~150 HP more than us on the same fuel system because they aren't feeding a supercharger to make their power.

Hi Kevin, good info I enjoy all that you post up. Seems like I am still underfueling the car even up here. Do you think I should move up to mototron 60's up here? What were you able to see in my logs? PM me with your findings.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Cool and good to know, I am sure my 42.5 svo's are struggling or will be when it gets cooler out.

Hmm, thats interesting, I guess I'll test and see how far the 60's go, and if I have to I'll get those 72's

Thanks Kevin

Any idea on your total cost for the blower setup? Think you can get the bigger injectors to idle ok with the stock PCM and tuning? (pulsewidth wise etc)

if you have an referenced adjustable regulator you can get up to 83# from the mototrons.. what does that calculate for s/c guys.

Kevin,

Are the 72's hi or low impedance? I'm building a 383 stroker with a D1SC and plan on making 12-14#'s of boost. If i used a boost ready adjustable FPR couldn't the 60lbs Mototrons be used on a 700rwhp setup? What size blower pulley does SDCE offer so we can make 14psi? Does SDCE or anyother company make a FMIC kit to replace our twins?

BigBos,
Does the Griffin FMIC come as a kit?

Thanks,
Den

It comes as a single intercooler w/no piping, I've having speed inc. do all the welding w/the piping and what not......

You can have SDCE make you whatever pulley you want, I would just go with the 3.4" to start with, I think w/the stock twin intercoolers a 3.2" will get you right around 14psi, the 72's are high impedance

Im going to adjust my fuel pressure up so i can reach my goal of 650rwhp. My base FP is set at 56 psi right now and my boost Ref. isnt even hooked up because my FP is steady as a rock. I am wanting to see how much boos ti see with my new FMIC and the 3.4" blower pulley.

The total cost for JUST the supercharger setup is starting to approach $6000. Mainly due to the change in belt systems several times before finding something that worked, and also this is my 2nd revision to the fuel system (getting 72 lb injectors now). I would have saved about $2000 if I just did it right the first time.

I don't think the 72lb injectors will be a problem at all. One of our 600 HP SC vetts runs the 60lb version of the injectors and they worked just fine.

How much are you going to get those 72's for?

That will probably be a future upgrade for me, I think I'll be able to use the 60's for now though playing w/the FP

60's with a 1:1 regulator I've seen run well into the 700's at the tire, but it was a lower boost larger cube application. Smaller cubes and big (25+) boost could not do that, too much pressure on the face of the injector.

The great thing about the SVO 42's (and other pintle types for that matter) is that they run just as well at 70 psi as they do at 43 psi. So you have a little room to grow there.

The problem with the plate type injectors that I am using and that most people in the 50's and 60's are using is that they don't seem to balance well above ~55 psi of fuel pressure. You end up with unevenly fueled cylinders which is VERY bad.

Bigger cubes smaller boost is also going to run at a more efficient BSFC giving any injector a better range.
