Hows this, how long would it take you to change your spark plugs after installing compared to before? one draw back on the turbo setups, too many delete the AC, cover the plugs, and run too close for my comfort to the oil pan/filter thus reducing the oil life. Thanks.

FWIW, I can generally change out my plugs in around 40 mins, and I havent relocated the coil packs yet!

Obviously you don't know how the STS kit works The STS kit has the turbo mounted at the rear of the car, you don't even know there is a turbo when you look under the hood except for the tube coming up from the bottom of the car. Very cool set-up, great idea. I have NO idea about all the different "typical" set-ups, I'm sure some one else can answer about those.

There is no difference at all in the time it takes to change spart plugs. You dont change anything under the hood except that there is a charge pipe that comes up in front. The kit is very straight forward to install.
I dont have times, but my before and after rwhp and tq were 310/325 and 412/451; untuned @ 5psi.

The SS Silverado guys are just now installing 408ci motors and doing either GT67 67mm compressor 81mm exhaust housing or 96mm exhaust housings. I htink one is using a GT70 or something like that. None of them have dyno'd yet so we'll have to wait and see. It's hard to find and AWD dyno LOL

SS Silverados are not 4WD they are AWD. Meaning it's all time, you can't push a button to make it 2wd As far as disconnecting DS or something I have no clue.

Installed a kit on a car with an Agostino motor built for a turbo Thursday. We used a t-70 with a .96 and upgraded some of the pipe. The car felt good, although didnt push it w/o a tune. The tune and dyno will come on Tuesday morning. We are just going to do 5psi at first. He has not upgraded fuel yet. This same car will have an intercooler and fuel within the month. The reason for the intercooler is the car has a custom nose; the same car that was in the pics on a previous thread. The customer designed the nose himself. It looks pretty good in person. He also has a new spoiler. I will try and get a vid of his dyno and the bodywork.

Wolfee, yeah I do have the pics, and run down on the kit, and although a/r and etc have me a little frustrated trying to figure out, I have the concept of how a turbo works, thanks. I wanted to get more info on ANY areas that may be a potential problem, hazard or inconvenience rather than "oh I made xxx more power." For example the charge pipe coming up, since I havent seen any detailed pics of that area, how close is to the oil filter, steering arm, any wires? I imagine since it coming from under the car, it must get in the way of something, or maybe you not familiar with our engine bay area, like changing a belt? People talk about how low the pipe hangs, and some say its no lower than a 3" Y pipe, but with a tubular K member can be raised, does anyone have a Kmember with the STS and testify or show pics of a difference in ground clearance? I just want to hear from people that have the kit, and what experiences they have, either in install, performance etc.
Not to sound like a *****, but theres always those few comments that get thrown in for no reason.

No reason to attack me for a stupid question that you asked! If you'd use the search feature on this site or even go to STS's web-site and look at some of the photos you wouldn't be asking these things. BTW, I made a point to let you know I wasn't coming down your throat like you are me with the Just kidding sign! If you wish to continue to give me a hard time over something that I was simply giving you a direct answer to your question fine, send me a PM and keep it off the list or just simply grow up and realize I meant nothing by it. I have by the way seen the engine compartment a couple of times by way of aftermarket k-member, upper and lower a-arms and Hals, heads and cam, LT's and a bunch of other stuff I have done here in the last few months. I will get you pictures of how my STS style kit looks as soon as it's done if you wish, I should be finished with in a month. Have a great day!

Thats why I was asking the questions, search turned up nothing in relation to clearer shots of that area. Also, hadnt seen any pics using a K member. I didnt mean to sound like a *****, as I said, and I didnt take you as attacking me either, sorry. When you get them, please post, or email:

TrayerC@afgn.army.mil

F8L ZL1- Sorry man, I have looked on their site, last time was about 6months ago before I deployed to Afghanistan, and since then, if they updated the site, which sounds like they may have, I havent had access to it with the site being blocked, or just too slow to load from an overcrowded military network.

If you could post some pics, or email ones showing the area where the pipe goes from under the car to TB that would be great. TIA.

Bad day at world's largest 3rd world dump, sorry for being short.
