Default supercharged dyno #'s...

Okay, I have a question I want answered. When you guys go to the dyno and do a few pulls, does the dyno operator go through the gears lightly and then floor it in 4th gear like any other dyno pull? Or do they run every gear up high and then go all out in 4th? I understand that superchargers are dependent on RPM's, but say for instance you did a pull and lightly went through the gears and then at around 2000 rpm in 4th gear, you put it to the floor and went up to redline. Would your #'s be any different if you went through the other gears any quicker to keep the RPM's up? I read a post on another forum about someone saying that their #'s would have been higher had the dyno guy went through the gears quicker. That doesn't make sense to me because regardless if you started at 2000 rpm or 4k rpm, your still going to wind it up to redline and the boost will kick in also. Can anyone explain this more?

That is nonsense. 4th gear is the 1:1 gear in a t56 and no matter how fast or slow you go through the gears as long as you start between 2k-3k and run it to your desired redline thats all that matters.

heh, the guy I'm talking about has a dodge stratus r/t supercharged running like 18 psi. He thought he would throw down 400 whp but only put down 320. He is saying that if they dyno guy ran 3rd gear up to 16 psi and then ran the 4th gear pull all the way to redline, that he would have dyno'd about 380 whp

Hmm, I think it might be normal for Vipers to dyno in 3rd.
I'd check their gear ratios.
