Maxing the MAF
what RPM are you guys maxing your mafs?
on autotap mine shows
rpm maf
4503 405.4
4792 439.9
i have a 98 so 439 is my max stock maf
does maxing the maf sooner in the rpm range mean you are making more power?

there arent any symtoms per say...but if you log MAF and RPM the value of the maf will climb as the rpm increases..and sooner or later it will max out.
98 cars max out at 439
99+ cars get 511

It actually has to do with the PCM MAF table, rather than the MAF.
A ported MAF will max out *slightly* later than a screened MAF, but not significantly (due to the different shape of the transfer function).

I'm curious too as I'm maxing my MAF (98 here too) and tuning after a new fuel system will include attempting to add the 99+ calibration into the PCM using LS1_Edit or HPTuner.
I like the powah too
