372 stroker???? as far as i know its not a STROKER.... to be a STROKER you have to increase the STROKE. A 372 is a stock crank 3.622 with a .04 OVER BORE 4.04" bore....... I love my 370ci motor and it is cheaper then a forged 4" crank and i like the idea of a Iron block when running lots of boost.

it is a stroker kit with the stock bore 5.7 ls1
3.905" bore x 3.900" stroke = 373.67 cid

Why would you go with a 3.9" crank when it is the same price for a 4" crank and more cubes for the same price...... 3.905" bore x 4" crank for a 383ci.......... or go with a Iron block with a 4.03" bore a .03" over bore and a 4" crank for a 408ci motor...........I would go with a 383 if you can afford it or a 408 would be better... this motor is goning into a 1979 malibu i want the lightweight alum block
with the 3.9 stroke you get more piston compression height = longer ring life or sacrifice ring life for better rod/stroke ratio

when finished i think the car will run mid nines on nitto drag radials and pump gas

nines on nittos would require alot of power and fishtailing 3/4 of the way down.

bu, there are not a whole bunch of 3.900 crank guys running around period. Scat I believe had made a bunch of those size cranks. It's just a rare crank size period so you might not find any FI guys running it.

i talked to one of the reps/tech guys at diamond pistons a few weeks ago and he recomended using the 3.9 crank and he would make the pistons to match for no extra charge - the advatage is more boost and longer piston/ring life

Scat and Eagle have made 3.900 cranks. Scat started making them first about three years ago, Mallet used them extensively.
