Default 346ci + forged internals + SC = how much power

I have recently became really interested in forced induction due the the insane amounts of power the setups can make. I was wondering what kind of power a stock cube motor with a forged bottom, pistons, and all the other goodies would make on average. How much boost could it handle before it got into dangerous levels?

On average how much would good forged internals cost?

I'm really only interested in stock cube motors with a SC

I'm a Newb to the whole FI thing so someone explain to me

I have forged pistons and upgraded rod bolts, stock crank and rods but there balanced. Check sig for power level so far.

You'll have fueling issues before engine limitations IMHO.

Well I meant if you upgraded your fuel system too. I just want to know how much power can be gotten out of a stock cube ls1 with a SC amd forged internals

1000+ on the stock crank and block is possible, IMO. If you go like most other LS1 guys do and run 9:1 or even 9.5:1 compression you are going to be severely limited in how much boost you can run on pump gas compared to an 8.5 or even lower compression motor, and the "tradeoff" of the "sloppy engine off boost" or any other poppycock you hear on here is basically nonsense. Build a good 8.5:1 or lower motor, and you can make oodles of power on pump gas.

I'd say 600-650 would be the average range with 12+ psi of boost. But as has been said, if it's built right, with the right components, and proper tuning... There's really no limit. $$$ and know how play a big part.

If I built my motor it would def. a 8.5:1 or lower CR. I would want to run at least 10-11 psi of boost

I'd say 650rwhp with a 9:1 346ci on pump gas, and from there you would need race gas or alchohol injection to hit bigger numbers.

My 746rwhp was thru a T400, and was with 110 leaded.

if you are only going to run 10-11 psi then go 9.5-1

It also depends on what you want to do with it..... track car only or street car that goes to the track........ Im a street car but i WILL hit my goal of at least 650rwhp and run a 10 sec pass with a 4L60 and a stock 10 bolt.... or break them both trying....... You should be able to hit 600+ easy.... what SC are you looking at??? M6??? Give us some more info on what you want to put this in and other components you are looking at.

It would be a street car that goes to the track, but not daily driven. The cars in this forum make me very envious! There are some sweet FI LS1's here

My friend is always talking about how great his 03 Cobra and how he can have 450 rwhp with a few bolt ons, but he aint got nothing on a forged/FI LS1

There are few guys with forged 346CID making close to 800rwhp on pump gas. For some reason the vette guys are pushing higher numbers than the F-body guys with SC and Turbo setups. They have proven than 700rwhp+ isnt that hard to get with the right setup.

800rwhp on pump gas with alky? 93 pump?

800rwhp with 93 pump and no alky is not possible I don't think.

They made that power on only 16psi with F1-R on a forged 346 LS1. They are going to go 17psi soon. The good news for the procharger guys is that the F1-R will fit the D-1SC bracket

With forged internals and alky injection, I don't see why you couldn't have 800+ reliable HP on 93 and drive it to the track as well.

I wouldn't try it without the alky though.
