What mods do you have done to the car and motor? I am in the middle a low compression 408 build with a sts turbo setup. So we will see.

"Should" Higher with the same amount of boost, Turbos require less HP to build the boost.

I don't think you would ever lose a race to an STS car with that setup - unless he was hitting it with a 200 shot.

do you have your dyno sheet?

we can dyno race when I am done.

I will be running 10psi with my setup.

Mods beyond the turbo and fuel system are cleaned up stock heads and a baby blower cam from my blower days. 212/218 .522/.529 114

Would at least be interesting to compare. I had a 500rwhp ATI setup that I sold to buy the STS so I will at least be able to give my butt dyno impression between the 2 as well.

Tell me more about your twin bypass valves. I have a D1-SC with twin coolers and was going to get a second bypass installed. Have been having some turbulence issues through the MAF and the poosible fix is twin bypass valves. Let me know.

originally I ran a stock ati surge valve on each intercooler, drove perfect. Then I upped the boost and ran a ATI race ready bov but it was causing horibble turbulance. Now I run the bov off the blower side and run the 2 surge valves stacked on each other on the passenger side. I Was losing boost before but now im holding 10-12psi with a 4" pully. Works nice. In your case just put a regular surge valve on each side and it will be just fine.

You're already down that road, so I think it would be easier to just upgrade the blower and replace the intercooler.

The STS would be a downgrade for you.

If you really want a turbo, get a big single next to the engine.

I would be really curious to see how you would do against me in a roll. I have 520lb-ft. You would beat me, but I'd like to see how badly. I should have asked you when I was at Dez's a few months ago.

I have raced a few 600 hp turbo cars, I won without much issue but whenever you would like to go from a roll feel free, Im sure I wouldnt beat you by much, your car makes awesome power and was the best sleeper I have seen. I wouldnt run the the norm sts, I will be running a much larger garret turbo. well if I did it anyway. This would be for fun and testing, I would still have the SC if I didnt like it.

I am having tuning problems with my car. My car is pulling timing down after 3700 to 11 degrees due to a map sensor issue but up to that point my dyno numbers are just a little bit higher than yours at only 5lbs of boost. I think my numbers will fall short of yours in the long run but it is strong up until that point. So far my car pulled 455/450 at only 11 degrees of timing and 5 pounds.

Our number are in the sig. The LS1 is all stock motor besides forged pistons, rods and stainless valves. The dyno was at about 12 psi with a slipping converter which we just fixed up this weekend.

I did not mean that my total numbers were better than yours only that I was making better power up to 3700 rpms according to our dyno graphs. I will fall well short of your peak numbers even after I get my tuning problem straightened out. I think I will end up in the 500 rwhp and 530 rwtq range which I think is pretty good for only 5 pounds of boost on a stock bottom end. Maybe someday I will make your kind of power but it will probably be a while. Good luck with your project.
