Hi Guys!

New to the site and forum. Lots of good technical info here.

What size cam and injectors would you recommend? I have 60 lb injectors now.

It depends on how much power you end up makeing you might have to step up to 72# injectors.

I would say with a 383ci go with a 236/242 .590ish/.610ish on a 114 or higher.... i would go with how your heads flow and hpw high you are going to spin the motor.

I will be using the AFR 225 heads. Will a 238/242 .598/.610 115 be too much cam? I would like a livable idle, nothing too radical.

The idle characteristics is mainly defined by the LSA. A 115 LSA will produce a nice slightly noticable lope.

Update:

Car is put back together. I got the car back from the tuner for a couple of weeks to break the motor in. Car made 724 at 6000rpm. Tq was at 647. There is more in it as we got a little belt slip at about 5000 rpm. The car has not yet been taken to 6500 so I am expecting a couple more lbs of boost. Maybe we'll see 800, but I am optimistic that I'll have 775. Final cam specs were .595/.598 232/234 114. Injectors were 72lbs. We'll find more in it... stay tuned.

That is good!! What size pulleys? How much boost# @ 5000? 6000? At what point did you have to get bigger injectors? _Tim

Thanks. This is with a 4.2 inch pulley

Boost:

2500rpm - 3lbs boost
3000rpm - 4lbs boost
4000rpm - 6.5lbs boost
5000rpm - 10lbs boost

at 5000rpms, the belt starts slipping a bit. but it looks like the following when we get it fixed:

5500rpms - 11-12lbs boost
6000rpms - 12-13lbs boost
6500rpms - 14-15lbs boost

We went bigger injectors from the get go. The fuel system is a custom job and the 72 lb injectors are at about 70% or so. This is with 2 fuel pumps and a boost-a-pump. Its pretty impressive... I will figure out how to post the dyno sheet so you can see... the fuel pressure keeps climbing with boost. It tracks it perfectly.

What belt tensioner setup are you using, and what kind of trans are you using

I have the East Coast Supercharging bracket setup. Trans is a MN6. We were playing with different pulleys and come to find out, we discovered the Reichard racing pulley was turned backwards. The Reichards have grooves cut into them specifically for grip... intalled the wrong way and they can start chaffing the belt due to the cut design. An easy mistake and an easy fix. Final dyno numbers in a couple of weeks. Xtreme brought the car to me to put some "easy" miles on the motor before they really tear into it. The car is definitely wicked
