Wastegate Choice

I plan on running a single turbo on a stock cube LS1 at 7-9 psi. What size wastegate would be appropriate for this setup? I really have no idea so any input would be appreciated! ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
If nothing else, you guys with turbo systems, please post up what wastegate you are running.

If you were running a GT40 at 30psi on an LS1 you could darn near run it with zero wastegate...hehe. If you run that same GT40 at 3 psi, you will need a BIG gate to bleed all the excess exhaust gas. Gate mm is a function of bleed off volume.

Not doubting your knowledge but it is tough being pulled in two directions on this.

We are using a 38mm Tial on the 03-04 cobra kit which uses a 76GTS which is even larger then the 70. It holds boost at 8psi rock solid on the dyno everytime. The tial 38 mm is an excellent unit. Its the best bang for the buck when it comes to WG's, even though you can't run to much race fuel through it, thats the only real drawback.

I haven't finished my turbo kit yet, but I bought a T67 that will be running @ 7 to 9 psi. For the wastgate I choose (with help of a knowlegable friend) a 38mm Tail wastwegate. The Tial unit is nice looking quality piece.
