Is it wise to do this? I was planning to run 8psi on cammed LS1 (stock bottom end), but after seeing the Water/Alky injection it got me thinking into running 11-12psi with the Water/Alky injections coming in after 8psi to keep things safe. Rob did run 14psi on stock bottom end with a TURBO which is harder on the engine since full boost hits early in the RPM. Do u guys think i will get away with it for at least one year until i built the engine? Also at what RPM i should pass 8psi if i pullied the SC for 12psi with a D-1SC?

Do I think you'd get away with it for a year - doubtful if you are driving it much, or driving it hard. I've always considered 8 pounds on a stock bottom end to be the last safe boost amount. I'm not a big fan of the alky injection either, and wish I had $100 for every friend of mine that tried it only to go back to IC.

The turbo is way easyer on the motor than the SC. Even at idle you have some boost. On a turbo you have none. At 12psi i would say the motor would last 1-3 mouths tops. If you drive it every day maby a mouth if you drive it 10miles a week. It might last all year. 12psi is a lot of boost and alot of power. It will rip apart any unbuilt motor. Run a search on here. I know i have seen pics of stock bottom ends letting go at 8 psi. Lets just say you will end up spending more money than you should.
I ran my old Incon kit on a STOCK motor, never even pulled the valve covers. 24K miles boosted (14k before the turbos went on), 600RWHP/600RWTQ. 9 psi on pump gas (93 octane), 14 psi (100 octane). 128MPH and dipped into the 10's w/ the 6 speed. When i built the motor, the only obvious thing was greater than expected ring wear for a 38K mile motor.

Mine lived for a very short time on 621/685 . . . that was running water/alky. But I think it was just as simple as too much powah for the stock motor. This was on 91 octane and 12psi!!
I am selling my SMC kit if you are interested . . . looking for $275 shipped. Nothing at all wrong with it, I have a new motor I'm dropping in and I just don't need it anymore. Enough braided line to do trunk mount, which is what mine is. Comes with three jets: 7, 10, 15gph. Still in the car but can have it out and on it's way

So from what Im sensing here i shouldnt do it. Also i think Turbo is harder on the engine because u get the 12psi at 3500 RPM instead of redline peak for less than a sec. I know SC put strain on the crank, but i was talking about abuse on the pistons and rings. So the case here is too much cylinder pressure for the stock pistons and rings right? I was thinking 12psi with water/alky + 11.1 AF to keep things safe, but if the cylinder pressure is what going to kill my engine then its not worth it i guess. Anyone out there did run more than 10psi on stock engine for a while please share your experince?

You can do it with Alky alone but I would highly recomend the IC first. I run both and am having great results with them but if I had to choose one it would be the IC.
As for 12psi on a 5.7L? I doubt it would last long. That's a lot of power on that motor. On a low compresison truck motor though.... I'm ok so far. LOL
