Default GT67 Upgrade?

Do i really need to buy the methanol injection system to run 8 psi on this turbo with my sts kit? I know it would be safer, but is it really nessecary?
Thanks, Dave

You have to do the meth or FMIC. Charge temps would be too high w/o. One of my customers is selling his meth kit and going FMIC if you are interested.

Absolutely. We have done a T-70 on a 408 with a big FMIC. So far, everything is great.

I am running 12-13psi with my GT67 and FMIC. I can run without the methanol but my timing needs to be lower at about 16deg to do so. With the meth my timing is a bit higher but we have yet to push the system since I can't afford to break anything right now.

I run a .6 bar spring (so 7 - 7.5 psi) with no meth and no IC. Absolutely no trouble with a good tune... My IATs hit 14x most of the time, and as high as 17x if I am just standing on the go pedal for months at a time.

I'd say the Meth injection or FMIC becomes mandatory if you want to run anything higher than a .6 bar, but .6 bar is fine.

I dont think you will see any significant gains with the LT's. If you have them on though, I wouldnt take them off unless you want to try and sell them or something.
Hopefully, there will be some before and after #'s soon to see how much difference they make. Your restriction is the turbo with the STS. I just dont see any huge gains with headers. IMHO.
