Did you order the tool? I don't even know why they make it an option. When you first look at it, it will make no since. But you'll get the hang of it. You have to install the bracket, then install the tensioner. Put some initial torque on the tensioner. I put about 7 1/2 lbs. Then route the belt, install the blower and put the belt on the tensioner. You should see 12-15 lbs. of torque on that belt and that should do it.

I didn't ask about size details, but I want to make 8psi (for now). I'd love some pictures! My e-mail address prodrigues@hooters.com I did get the tool, I figured that I'd need it. I guess when I get the kit I'll understand what you are talking about when you say put tq on the belt. Thanks for all the feed back!

I'm so excited that I'll finally get my blower to kick some ***! 2 years is a long time to wait for something to work right!

Oh yeah i forgot to mention, make sure you figure your belt path out BEFORE mounting the bracket. I can't tell you how many times I've pulled a homer and forgot to route the belt on the inside of one of the bracket supports. DOH!

Yep... just like Mike siad..... take everything off and then get out the instructions and route the belt.... then mount the bracket back up with the spacers provided...... i had to go one more because the belt rubbed my thicker Steal bracket....... then mount the Spring tensioner and us the tool to get it to a setting you feel is right.. (this could take a few times of mounting the blower up and getting the belt on to get it where you like) but its not that hard...... Just take your time.

Just out of curiosity

does this SCDE stuff, solve the belt slip problem? is it an entire kit to convert to 8 rib? or does it still use the 6 rib? and are yall getting by with the stock bracket or still afterkmarketo ones?

and about how much does this cost? if someone were to buy a D1 kit used, what would be needed to make it crank out about 15psi?
thanks
ed

Ed,
Yes Yes Yes the SDCE kit DOES stop the belt slip problem..... There is a kit to convert your stock rib setup to a spring tensioner, but i didnt want to do that i wanted a 8 rib setup for pushing the system harder down the line.... I am using a aftermarket STEEL bracket ($200), but alot of people are using there one that came with the kit.... you have to send your bracket is so Scott @SCDE can modify it. I believe it $700 for the 8 rib spring tensioner setup.... alot of us got in it when they had a GP going on.... who knows maybe you can start another one...... If you were trying to reach 15psi 8 rib is the only way to go.... PM BOS he had another 8 rib setup before and a cog setup and couldnt get either work..... now he has the SDCE 8 rib setup like me and FRCEFED and we are all very happy with it... its one of the best if not the best blower mod i have done yet.....

so basically for around 700 you can get the D1 to make the power it should be? That will get you an 8rib spring tensioned setup?
thanks
