Need help ATI 383 runs hot

I just put in a new 383 from TSP with my D1SC. Ever since then The car has been running hot. I never put back the stock shrouds for the radiator. It has the ATI single fan and shroud on. I also added a 12 inch pusher in the front. The fans are running the right way. I have a 160 thermostat, electric water pump and am runing a 80/20 mix of water and coolant with 2 bottles of water wetter. I am still using the stock radiator. The motor is set up for a compression ratio of 9.1 to 1. TSP tells me it should run alot cooler. But it gets up to around 220 driving around without the AC on. With the AC the temp just keeps climbing. What could be doing this? Any suggestions?

Are u sure the Temp gauge is accurate? Check the radiator deflector because if its not moving air upwards that could be your problem. Or Maybe its time for a larger radiator. Good luck.

You sure you got all the air bubbles out? When you put your coolant/water in did you turn the heater on? I drained and flushed my system the other day and it was a little hot and i turned the heater on and it burped a big bubble out. Just a thought.
Dont the guys that are running a wet sleeves set up use a glycol/water mix to run cool?

I know the deflecter is ok. You might be right about a bigger radiator. I was also told by friends to drill holes in the ATI supplied fan shround. I want to keep that as a last resort.
As far as bleeding the system. I think I did a good job. I changed the fluid acouple of times now and nothing changed. What does turning on the heater have to do with bleeding the system? What is glyco??? I will keep you posted on my numbers in the future.

when you turn the heater on , you get coolant flowing into the heater core, thus moving the air out of there.

Steve Demirjin was saying to use if you have the MID wet sleeve set up...

Dont know how it would work with regular aluminum blocks. Just maybe an alternative. ???
