Kyle, mine vents all the time too, but only on the freeway or spirited driving around town. It makes the annoying chatter type or you can say chirping if you want but its blowing off the excess pressure in the IC tubing at these speeds(45+mph). I can hold the car at steady revs at around 32-3700 hundy and it will be chirping like mad(in park) and you can feel the air being blown out the nose of the car pretty damn good(thats where my HKS is located) But at WOT during a pull or pass it shuts(like your should be doing) and doesn't allow any boost to leak out.

So it sounds like its working properly to me. The ATI is open under normal cruising conditions like mentioned by the ones who run em above, yours is doing this too, but its opening closing opening closing etc... real fast, but once you get on the gas it quites down right? They are doing the same job...venting excess pressure out of the IC tubing to atmosphere.

Cant you adjust the valve where its open at part throttle? At idle/cruise vacuum it should be open (venting), it pobably has a strong spring in it and it is closing at part throttle. When you are on boost the spring will close it and the boost going into the valve will keep it shut.

Some valves you can take apart and cut/shim the spring, I've never seen the one you have so I dunno Te turboXS I was using had shims to adjust the spring pressure.

THis one does have a Allen head screw on top.... i have never tried adjusting it..... will do...... It has a 11 psi spring in there now if that means anything..... So i should try and adjust it when the car is idling to see if i can get it to vent at idle and from what you are saying Kp the spring should close it the whole when when i go into boost???

A regular supercharger bypass will usually be open at all times except WOT, I dont know a lot about different BOVs to be honest. What you describe sounds like the valve is closing at part throttle accelleration. The main difference between a bypass and a BOV is the bypass valve has a fitting to pipe the air back into the blower inlet and a BOV doesnt.

They both do the same thing, open at vacuum and close at boost and use the boost pressure to keep them closed but I believe a turbo BOV is setup to close at part throttle with heavier spring pressure - could be wrong there though

nasty if you can get the tial to work like you want its a better deal since the ati is 400 friggin bucks and the noise it makes may be too much for you liking, mines barely cracked and im not kidding when I saw it sounds like a friggin tornado

Cool glad I was able to rev the car over the phone for you, if you need a video of the rev chirpy deal let me know and we can compare to see if you are indeed hearing what I hear.

Yep the ATI is expensive, I can live with my Firebirds "chirp" on the highway for the measly 190 I spent on the HKS

Glad you got it worked out. As for the Pm, i can just mention that I got my ATI for $250 brand new off of ebay. I just kept looking for a week and finally found it The guy had mispelled bypass so not too many people were competing for it

I'm sure if you look, and you still want one, you'll find one
Good luck
