Default Is It True??

I have some questions for you guys.... as you kno wi have my new FMIC on with my D1-SC. As soon as i switchesd the sound of the blower changes..(Thought it would) But the more i listen to it while cruising the more i think about the sound it sounds like chatter..... I have a Tial 50MM BOV and i read somewhere it is not open at cruise with vacum? Is that correct?? If so that could be the sound coming back up stream and coming out the blower its self.... does anyone elses sound that way??? I will get a vid of it up this evening for you guys to listen to. Any thoughts???
Thanks
Kyle

my ATI race ready is open until I reach 0 vaccuum, then it builds boost. So my car sounds like a tornado at all times until I hit the peddle. But then again its built for a SC car and not a turbo. I thought the tial was a turbo type BOV?

I was told it is for both Turbo and SC.... When you say sounds like a tornado do you mean the air sound????

Yup, I also have the ATI race bypass and it gushes out air cruising and all other times until you hit the pedal ... then it closes and boost builds

Yes the BOV should be shut, only opens when you have boost in the intake pipe and vaccum in the intake manifold i.e. when you lift off the throttle. It could be the compressor yes, I know mine does it sometimes.

yah that sucker is going to be closed.

you could add a bypass to the system if you wanted.

that's what my buddy did to his. just added a little bosch bypass like the vortechs come with and then also has his TurboXS blowoff as well.

works well.

just layed down 556/530 on 10psi

isnt it bad to have a turbo type BOV on the car, your sending the pressure back to the blower?

So your saying it is shut.... but boost should be in the intake pipe all the time because its a straight shot to the BOV..... have vaccum all the time at the manifold........ So what does that mean... do i need to post some pics up so u guys can see how mine is routed or do you guys remember?

So if you have boost in the intake piping, and you have vacuum in the intake manifold (cruising at normal speeds), then the BOV should vent the air while driving at part throttle?

you said yours is closed at cruise, thats the opposite of mine. I would think your sending all that back to the blower. Yes I run the ati race ready and two surge valves on the passenger side intercooler as well to smooth out the cruise buck

personaly I think having the BOV only is not a good idea.

nowhere for all the extra air to go.

what I did on my kit and it worked awesome was to vent a Vortech Mondo bypass to the atmosphere and built a silencer for it for $10. That setup lowered my inlet temps at cruise 30 degrees and worked perfectly. Still is, on the guy's car that bought my kit.

Kyle, I would recommend the ATI race. It's a nice piece, does its job, and sounds great at redline

Members on this board actually convinced me to get it after I asked all the questions about it
