boost question

boost question they are sayin on the sts kit that they are pushin 8lbs of boost with methanol on a completly stock motor. my compression is going to be 9.31... how much more boost do you think i will be able to push and still be safe.
i have:
3.905 diamond pistons
6.125 scat rods
stock crank
stock heads
weiand aluminum intake

Lots of variables there but I think your problem isn't going to be the motor. It's gonna be IAT cooling and fuel...
I'm assuming you have a fuel system so the cooling part is gonna give you trouble.
Methanol is great up to a point but I don't see how anyone could run high boost (14+psi) with just the meth unless their turbo is incredibly efficient and they are under 200deg IATs before the meth... At 13psi I was hitting 200-230deg IATs in my truck before meth and the FMIC..
IMO if you wann amake serisou HP then I would add a FMIC or IC and Meth. That's what I did/am doing.

it is actually a 1994 3.4 camaro w/ an ls1 swap. the local alt is @900 ft above sea level. max pump gas is 94 sunoco. it probably get the upgraded turbo right off the bat from sts and a re-tuned pcm to match it. with a 2002 ls6 cam.

Without the IC or Meth I would say 6psi or so depending on your tune.. IATs go up VERY fast after that point... I was seeing 130-150deg IATs ar 6psi and 190deg IATs at 10psi.
Obviously my setup is different but you'll probably be within 20deg of those marks.

out of the box the sts kit is setup for 5 psi for stock compression
this will have almost 1 point less @ 9.3:1 - stock is @ 10.1:1
how much more boost can it handle?
