Default AFR heads on an FI application?

afr 225s vs ls6 head...whats the verdict out there? Ive noticed that heads lifting off the motor isnt really an issue any longer...so whats left? Higher flow numbers are higher flow numbers right? But will the small CC high velocity be good for FI? Anyone have any input for someone uneducated such as myself?

Here is how I answer it.

I would sell my 6.0's in a heartbeat to convert over to AFR 225's if they had the larger cc's... like 68+. Do they offer such a thing? And I I would do that if the head flow testing was good, like 330cfm or something. I"m at 300 now.

I have a set of brand new AFRs that are at 238CC and were designed for Forced Induction. The chambers are at 69CC and they flow ~340 at .600 lift

Sounds just like what you are looking for

will the 69CC vs the 72CC really make a huge difference? If they were put on the "same engine" assuming CR would stay the same...would it make a HUGE difference? (just trying to learn) Thanks!

69cc vs 72cc isn't a big difference. Probably .1 to .2 at the most

So the only reason to get the larger CC is to lower compression? What are the other benefits?

I can't wait to test the smaller 205's on a boosted car.I believe those small/good flowing runner's will kick a$$ in the midrange.

I know TEA is doing a custom 235 AFR Head. Not sure the chamber size. I heard the 76cc direct from AFR was on hold.

Damn YELLOW you're making 630rwhp with 12psi? That's awesome!!! Looks like the AFR's work great even with the smaller runner. I'm on the fence between the AFR's and the MTI stage 2E heads. But if they work on a FI car they should work with N2O as well.
Thanks,
Den

Thanks!
The AFR 205's have nice low/mid Torque and a thick deck for better clamping force (FI/N20).
I'm happy with them.

I have the MTI 2E LS1 heads and they are more of an na style of setup I think. They work ok but I have been thinking of going with some AFR's too.

Packy,
Do you know what size the MTI stage 2E intake runners are? When it comes to N2O it seems like any good head works. My heads are a very mild stage 1 and i picked up almost a full second on a 125hp shot. If the MTI heads are between 207cc to 210 cc i would think they would work great on the juice.

Thanks,
Den
