Best cubes for high hp w/ blower?

leaning toward a 347 forged aluminum block.. was told it would would be capable of 700-800hp..

not to get off topic just trying to find the best tranny for this setup.
the th400 seems like a very good tranny.. lots of good feed back.. but 3 gears and no over drive.. not sure if thats the best choice for a street vehicle..
to add over drive its like 2grand.. but there's also the 4l80e.. just cant decide. I know I don't want to spend money rebuilding and rebuilding again.. so I'd like to make the right choice the first time.

anyways whats the highest rwhp vehicle with a 347 forged aluminum block? how much hp are they capable of handling?

Well, we know or believe that ARE made 1000 to 1100 rwhp in their all aluminum NOS motor. On the other hand, I do not know if any of the turbo guys have made more than that with an aluminum block. I believe that W2W uses CI blocks in their turbo motors? So, I would think an all aluminum turbo 346 motor would be good to at least 1000 rwhp, but you need to have the right shop build it for you.

I stopped by his rig in the Cordova pits and challenged him jokingly to a race for a beer during time trials, but it didn't work out. They all seemed like good guys.

You prolly met my "crew chief" Joe then. I think he went with them to that race.

Dan has been a good source of info that's for sure. Having been there and done that, he knows what works.
