Exclamation Any LS1 Pro Turbo Kit Pics out there?

I heard from Smokinghawk that there are some pics of the Pro Turbo kit for the LS1.

Anyone have them or willing to post them?

When is the kit suppose to come out? Hasen't it been like 3-4 months since they announced?

Bill

Thank you very much. Looks like a well made kit but..........

The only thing that would make me not buy one is the intercooler set up.

It looks like you have to remove all the foam and remove your grill insert and the cut the plastic behind it. I am not willing to hack my car up for that. Unless I am looking at the pics all wrong.

Also it looks like I will loose my Power Steering cooler and the MAF should be on the discharge of the IC for a more correct reading.

Damn, my high hopes were shot down again........

Anyone else making a kit where you don't have to cut your car all up?

Bill

what do you want? an efficient, excellent perfoming kit, or one thats half assed so you dont have to modify some never seen parts of your car? some modifications require sacrifices to do the job right.

I think Bill is just looking for different options, no need to bash. Keep looking Bill you'll find something.

Yeah they call it STS

PS
I don't think I ever saw a turbo car with the MAF on the discarge side of the IC.

First all accessories are kept with this system, nothing is lost. Also remember these are just prototype pictures so things are removed right now for ease of working under the hood. Also you don't want the MAF on the discharge side, the mustangs have proved this for many years before we ever thought about turbocharging LS1's. Next, the IC can be also had in a water to air version as well.

My84Z, thats just a standard flex joint, whats so hard about getting a replacement...lol??? Also I have yet to ever see one break/crack...etc. PTK warranties their hot parts for life....so I wouldn't worry about that

Jose,

Thanks for adding your $.02!!!

Do you have an idea of when you might have a kit ready to sell?

Are you going to offer a IC that mounts like the Turbo Tech kit does, in front of the radiator?

I understand that those are just proto pics but I hope the final kit doesn't require you to cut your car up for the intercooler. The crossover pipe looks like it fits snug to the floor pan so you don't loose any ground clearance.

For those that know me and has seen my car, understands why I won't cut my car up, it's just too purdy... lol

Bill,
you need to be looking in the rearend section for a 12 bolt. Not in the way more power section
Those flex joints are dime a dozen in industrial aplications. They would be no trouble to get. Got to admit its a great idea to use them. They would relieve the stress from any misalighnent. Sure there wont be any when it's originaly fit up but the thermal expansion and engine movement would surely add some. Thats got to cause problems on rotating equipment spinning at that rpm. IMHO
And yes Bill's car is WAY to purdy to hack up.
Hey what am I doing here this isn't the nitrous section

the IC located in front of the radiator, isnt the best place to put it, it doesnt really get much air there. mine didnt really have an overheating problem or anything, but the IC just didnt get as cool as it should.
