That picture was taken when the engine was still fairly new. I leave the PCV off at the beginning to see if something with the motor is wrong. If the motor is hurting, it will start to smoke excessively out of the PCV. Just a trick.

The PCV is hooked up to the blower suction now with an aircraft air oil separator in line.

Got any pics of that? Where did you get it from, and how does it work?

No. The PCV is there for emissions reasons and debatably to increase ring life. Leaving it open doesn't hurt anything. It is best to run a filter on it though if you are going to run with it open. Additionally, if you leave the PCV system unhooked you have to disconnect the suction line at the intake otherwise it is a BIG vacuum leak.

I picked it up off of a buddy who works on aircrafts. It is a centripital separator. The air enters a swirling chamber and is forced to 'spin' before exiting. This swirling action brings the oil vapor out of the airstream. They really only work well if you are pulling a hell of a vacuum. The slower the air velocity of the PCV system, the worse they work.

They work well, but are kind a paint to find a place to mount. I put mine where my AC charge tank used to be.

Is your crank case capped off as well? The valve cover 90 degree angle piece.

No, I have a y-connection that draws from both valve covers. The only thing not included in the Old PCV system is the suction line from intake, which is used for boost reference signals and the bypass valve actuating line.
