You can hold 800 to the flywheel stock with good rod bolts and head studs.

I think I have one of the "cheaper motors" making above 800 rwhp.

I would go with a 6L block eagle r. assm. and some patriot heads (man there cheap now-a-days)

Ross pistons. stock lifters, main caps and rocker arms. 8.8:1 cr. ARE did it for me pretty cheap ( motor wasnt clearenced correctly had to have it gone thru. again) red line is 6800 rpm.

for 800fwhp all i have is a rodbolts, head studs, cam and springs. total cost of motor less than $2000(includes the price of the motor). keeping the tune safe is a good idea. some forged pistons and good rods seem like a good idea.

i had many runs on the motor at this level, i would say 40+ and it was still going strong. steping up to a forged everything 408 now.

are you guys just messing with this dude or what? you can do it for way less than that.

take a stock 6.0 $1000
add head studs, cam, springs, rods, pistons, machine work $3000
stock heads, stock crank

105 fuel, 16psi, 800fwhp safely, i did it without the rods or pistons and at the stock 9.4-1 compresion. forged pistons and rods seem like a good idea.

with the other $3k get some afr heads, who know what the limit would be with a set of them on there but i would think 1000+fwhp before anything bad happened.

here's my list

6.0L block - $400 to $500
stock crank - $350 to $400 depending on where you get it
head studs - $230
main studs - $140
stock heads - $300 complete if you get lucky
decent rods - $600 to $800
pistons, pins, rings - $800
machine work - $400 to $500 (pin fit on pistons, rod, balance, hone)
bearings - $50 (depends on what kind)
gaskets - $30 (assuming GM MLS)
pushrods - $100
rockers - $200 (if you're lucky you have some with the heads)
cam - $300
timing set - $200 (atleast $100 for a decent chain)
oil pump - $100

Now that's assuming you got an intake, covers and gaskets, oil pan, etc.

Also, if you assemble it that's free. Expect a couple hundred for assembly at most places.

That's $4200 using the low ball numbers. Probably $4500 assembled.

A "decent" set of heads and you're real close to $6k

Based on the LOTS of boost comment, i'm assuming he means 800 to the tire.

LOTS of boost in V8 land gets you into the bottom 8's, LOTS of boost in honda land gets you into the 13's
