Just curious, but once installed, is there any room for the pretty FRC's i have on there now? If not, damn...they were pretty!

Hey Inspector,
Sweet car, just wondering what your thoughts are on that Vortech. How much difference did it make to driving daily....fun, practicality? Are you happy with it thus far? What type of sound does it make? What else do you think a stock car would need to complement it? Longtubes of course, but what else needs to be put on it?
Thanks
Rob

Rob, driving daily is up to the person some can take a car that will barely idle and say it is streetable. I am not that guy that is one reason I went with FI you can make very good power and drive with the A/C on etc. I love my car it is very fun to drive although I could drive it daily I don't. I have a beater so if you want to go with more power get you another beater cause you can really start breaking stuff I have almost rebuild everything that would break all I really need is a rear end and I haven't decided on what I want yet. All I am saying is don't get to carried away without thinking it through a little cause there would have been a bunch of times I was stranded cause I got a little to excited while driving and ended up tearing my car down to fix a broke trany or motor etc. I would think that LTand a good cat back with a good dyno tune would make the world of difference, and while I was at it I would atleast go with a 2.75" pulley instead of the 3.12 that comes with the kit and it will not void you warr. through Vortech as they offer this pulley for your set up do that before the tune as it will need to be there for the tune with a good cat back you should be around the 475rwhp range and very good driveability. If you are auto a 2800 stall is where I would start IMO. If you are a 6spd you wil need a clutch real soon so drive good.

Oh I forgot to say the one you are getting is virtually undetectable (Quiet), and it will drive like stock untill you give it a little gas, but as long as you stay out of the boost (won't happen) the gas mileage and everything will not change much if any.

Hey thanks for all the advice. It sounds like that Vortech is exactly what I wanted. Will I be needing a boost gauge now? What if I didn't get stall put on, and I stuck to my auto stall of 12-1600 or so. Is that really going to drain the performance of the charger? I agree with you on the beater, and I have a 95 V6 camaro for that....ah the smile the Hawk puts on my face when I step on it, compared to that V6 I drove around for 10 years. Now with the vortech coming, hitting the gas might just bring me to tears! Later

no. you dont need a boost gauge but I like to monitor engine vacuum and boost levels when driving. definitely get a stall it will really compliment your set up well.

i wouldn't go with a 2.75 pulley yet, that will put you at 12 lbs, that's pushing it on a stock bottom end.

i run the stock pulley now and i get 7 lbs right at redline. i'm gonna pulley down to a 2.9" pulley to get 9 lbs. that will be fun!
