Default SDCE tensioner with ATI 8 rib

I've been getting alot of questions about using our tensioner with ATI's 8 rib system. It can be done, however there are a few things to keep in mind.
ATI's crank pulley is a different diameter than ours and this will change the blower pulley sizes and how much boost you'll see...

If you plan to use our tensioner and you buy an 8 rib D1SC system elsewhere, we recommend you order it WITHOUT the ATI crank pulley as our system includes our crank pulley!!! Or you can make things even simpler and take advantage of our introductory prices on our complete systems!!

ATI's 8 rib system requires you to use an ATI damper. You can use a stock damper OR an ATI damper with our tensioner system.

Just using ATI's 8 rib pulley will NOT eliminate the belt slip issues.
It will help a little. You will still have to overtighten the belt and it requires constant maintenance of tightening and checking the belt. Our tensioner system ELIMINATES belt slip, bracket flex and that annoying blower rattle noise ENTIRELY.
With our system, you will not have to worry about your belt for MANY miles. Just like driving your car STOCK....how many times did you have to tighten your belt when the car was stock???
Think about it...you took FACTORY SPRING TENSIONERS OFF YOUR CARS TO PUT ON THE BLOWER kit!!!
Besides, if it's about the amount of ribs, why don't cogs work? They have teeth for crying out loud!! think about it....
Look under the hoods of most new cars....what kind of tensioner do they use????

What if I am not ready to up the boost to ~15psi?

I have 5psi right now....right where I want it so I dont blow the engine. I HATE the blower (D1) rattle that this thing has, it sounds broken to people who have never heard it before.

Kyle

The bracket support doesn't fix the blower rattle...the rattle is the gears banging back and forth inside the blower...the engine doesn't idel at EXACTLY 700 or so rpms' (or whatever it idles at - I just picked a number)it goes from 680-750 and you don't even see it....the blower is spinning 7 times faster than the engine and this amplifies the engine's accel/decel....get it??? It's hard to explain....the tenioner itself is what fixes the rattle...the tensioner is absorbing the rattle of the blower....

SO when I purchase the SDCE 8 rib bracket and tentioner itll come with the correct crank for your system... and a pulley for the SC correct? Also.. does your crank pulley come with a pinning kit or is that seperate?

Thanks...

And yes, we include an 8 rib blower pulley.

You will have that rattle until you put a spring tensioner on it.

What size is your 8rib Crank Pulley that fits a ATI Superdamper? Second. The Blower pulley, do you get that from ATI? What is the smallest pulley 8rib you carry? 3.4"?

No longer have the P1. Blew it up... Pushing over 700RWHP now with my new setup and Cogs, but now that I stepped up in the blower the COGS really now can't handle it. The Belts are not lasting! So a custom 8 or 10 rib is required.

But SDCE or ATI does not have a big enough Crank pulley, in their kit, that I need for this high altitude. And I don't want to run a 2.9" 8rib, or slippage will happen again. So I'm going to come up with my own spring Tention kit. I have shopped online, called companies, and I priced up a Special Crank Pulley, a regular ATI 3.6" Pulley and a custom spring tentioner, the pricing looks very promising, meaning I'll save myself a lot! And will max out my Blower, and give me the boost I need. I'm going to fabricate it all myself though.

Because ATI's crank pulley is a different size than ours, you may have to play around with blower pulley sizes to get the "right" amount of boost you want.

The ATI crank pulley is larger than your right? I think its 7.65" to 7.25" right? I dont see it as a problem. Every .5 increase in crank pulley size = .25 decrease in blower pulley size. I think i can figure it out when i buy your tension setup.
