Unhappy 2000silverbullet is dead.

Well I had a feeling that something was wrong; so I took my car for a spin and nailed it for a while and noticed some smoke. I drove back home and the dipstick was pushed out and oil was dripping from the air filter on valve cover. I let the car cool down for 2 hours and started it back up with the valve cover plug removed and it was pouring smoke out of it. If you were next door, it looked like my garage was on fire from all the smoke pouring from the valve cover. I have been burning around 3 quarts of oil every 5k miles. Well now I need to fix this. Anyone want to give me some advice on where to start? What do I rebuild? What do I need? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This really hurts!

If its jugging at idle and do the old chimney routine then the ring lands are probably shot. Id pull the heads and see how the pistons look. If there gone then id save up and go with.
A set of Diamond pistons $595
set of pro select rings $180
Set of Eagle Rods $500 w/ upgrade to L-19 rod bolts
Machining About $300
Assembly and balancing $500
ARP Main studs $150
ARP Head studs $220
Good set of 6.0L heads $ You choose.
Good blower cam $395
Ported LS6 oil pump $160
Good timing chain About $100
And should be about it, but i might of left a few things out.

I also think its your ring lands, you can go kyles route if your pretty mechanical or you can just buy an assembled short block from ls1speed, ape, lpe, or any other sponser. FWIW I dont want any of you guys touching my car you all have bad luck lol there are alot of recently toasted engines on here lately lol j/k

good luck

Sometimes the addiction of boost is fun and it breaks things. I guess 10 psi was pushing it to hard. Oh well, had fun doing it!

What do you mean by te smallest? The crank pulley was a 7.25 and blower pulley was a 4.00. I think the 4.00 is the biggest blower pulley SDCE offers. Is that what you needed?

Call Riechard racing and see how big they can get. I know there pulleys are $160 but id they make a 4.1" or a 4.25" pulley that would help alot of people out..... IMO 10lbs is to much for a stock motor.... ie riglands and pistons.

How in the world did you get 10 pounds with the 4 pulley I have that pulley and I'm only doing 6 pounds and all I have is a stock motor and headers

I have been burning around 3 quarts of oil every 5k miles.
that sucks....my advice would be to change the oil more often than every 5k miles

If it hasn't been said yet... don't spin the motor anymore either. I ruined some LT1 heads after the top land came apart...

Pulley size doesn't determine how much boost you will run. All cars are not the same. I have no idea as to how I did it, I just did??? 10 psi is bad for a stock LS1. I'm going to run a CR check later this weekend and see bad news I'm sure. I can't wait to get a new motor and kick some serious *** now! I won't have all funds till tax time, but uncle scam will provide some HP!

boost is a measurement of back pressure (camshaft plays a big part as do heads).
that pressure will also change with different altitudes.
