Default Boost Question

Whats up guys.... I'm trying to finish my TA and I about to order the pistons, but before I do, I'd like to know if a 10-12psi is possible with a Compression ratio of 9:1 to 9.5:1 on 93 octane for the street? I'll be running the MSD Boost Timing Module, Custom Tune, 50# injectors, and some nasty fuel pump... Thats the other question, does anyone know where I can find a Walbro 320lph to make work in the car? Thanks everyone

Mike

cam selection will also play a role. I ran 13psi on my 9.5:1 engine on pump gas. made 663 at the wheels with a D1sc.

I'd go with the lower compression if the motor is strictly for boost.

I forget, what size are stock LT1 rockers, 1.5 or 1.6?

If you ported LT4's, why not go with more lift on the cam? What do the heads flow from 450-600? If the heads kick *** at say 575 but fall off big at 600 then you would want to give that info to the cam company. My heads for example are decent to 600 lift but don't really increase that much to 650. If I had a set of heads that rocked to 650 I would gain power.

The stock ratio on LT1's is 1.5 and on LT4's is 1.6.... The problem I have is I have no idea what the heads flow at what rpm... Is there anyway to find that out? However, this is going to be a daily driver anyway, so I can't go too nasty with it, But I would like everything to work properly together...

You could get the heads flowed, see what you have. My 6.0 heads from Diamond flow about 300/220 at 600.

I'm running 12psi intercooled at 9.3:1 and would rather be at 9:1 in retrospect.

One other thing I forgot to ask... Does the cam on a 383 have to be special? Someone brought up the idea of a "low base circle" cam.... thanks
