Best turbo for money??

Best turbo for money?? I am sure this question has been asked, if someone wants to point me in the right direction that would be appreciated or you could post your thoughts. I read up on the sts, I like the sound but Im a little weary. What other options are there in terms of turbos for my Z. How much do the normally run, $4000? What set ups have been proven to give awesome power? How tideous is the install? Are they worth the money? If you have a setup, how muc did you pay for it complete? Are turbos hard to maintain? Sorry for the stupidity, just new to turbos, and cant seem to find all my answers when I search this forum. Thanks guys
You can get a very good turbo (GT42) for around $800-900, it will support around 900HP. If you want to get a dual ball bearing turbo expect to spend 1600+ (Harlan has 2 for sale, 1200 each)
