Question STS 1/4 mile times seem slow?

I'm very interested in the STS kit for my 99' WS6 but I've wondered why people are only hitting mid 12's with 500+ RWHP. How can the Z06 and the C6 hit 11.97 to 12.3 with less power (yes I know they weigh less but they are also missing 100 RWHP).

Thanks for the help in advance!

Shawn

Mostly the driver's fault.Hopefully soon some serious racer's will be running STS systems and will give some comparable 1/4 times.

You will see most "most" forced Induction cars dont perform the same way as N/A cars with same Dyno HP numbers.

Area under the curve, its as simple as that. Average hp is more important then peak #'s.

Just wait it'll come around. It's something new no one has gone really serious with. But someone will do it over the winder and we'll see the results in the spring.

I think that this kit REALLY took off within the last 5 months or so... unfortunately lots of tracks closed for the season shortly after that and not a lot of people have made it out yet. I think this season we will see PLENTY of STS track #s... I hope the outcome is good, and Im more interested in seeing stock cars, or close to stock, with this kit hit the track. The only thing negative Ive seen in person, and heard about plenty of, is STS IATs for those that dont run meth... this summer will be interesting to see how these STS cars hold up... especially places like here in Cali where I know some STS cars will see 100*+ temps.

I was just thinking, since turbo's run off of exhuast would it be better to run stock manifolds and y-pipe (since they both lick ballz and create a **** load of back pressure)? I could be just a dumbass though. hahah

STS recommends stock stuff for that reason.

STS recommending stock **** just doesn't even make sense. The whole premise of the rear mounted turbo doesn't make sense, but whatever makes them money.

On a front mounted setup, would it be better to use small weld-el log manifolds plowing into the turbo, or something like Harlan's setup with a tubular header and a nice smooth merge collector? Gee, that's a tough one.

But it works.. and it works well so far... if you think about it, which you havent, then youd realize the stock stuff will work better. Trust me.. it took me a couple explanations to figure it out but it eventually made sense.
