Speed Inc.'s opinion
as for track times...just wait and see what happens and dont be surprised if its better then what you expected
just give it some time...hasnt even been out that long, ppl are still trying new things.~Tom
The SC is easy to tune, turbo is harder.
There is slightly more heat with turbo set up. I have a small 67mm turbo on my truck, it has been there for 18000 miles with no problem. The additional heat is not a problem.
Everyone needs to pick there best option. If you want simple power thats easy to tune a blower is good. If you want max gains the turbo is the only way.

Because I know you and respect what you have accomplished, especially that $10K manifold, that you wont make for me., as you have performed both installs, which was easier to install.
On another note, I do not consider 18K miles a test, at 100K if your turbo car is still going, we can go ahead and call it reliable. At 18K you are not even at a hose changing interval.
I like the fact that you can change boost via a waste gate, to alot for different kinds of gas, but when you are making 800RWHP and can run 93 all day, what difference would it make.
There are plenty of Turbo buicks with over 300,000 miles on the stock engines.
I don't think we have to wait for Kurts truck to hit 100k in order to deem turbocharged vehicles reliable.
A boost controller is nice so you can raise/lower boost depending on fuel used, but it's been most useful for me on the street with street tires as you can adjust ramp rate for the boost curve until you get traction.
Send me a 5000.00 dollar deposit and we will start on your manifold.
My truck is good enough to have my two sons in it on a trip. It's going to go about 20,000 this year. My truck blower kit is almost ready for it's street drive test which will cut the miles on my turbo. My car blower testing revealed the need for a new belt every 10,000 miles, my turbo has not needed a belt yet.
The main diff in the boost control is drivability. My truck in the snow at high boost would be hard to drive. At low boost its a lot of fun. My blower in snow was also easy to drive as the boost would not come on at low speeds.
How many miles on your blower car so far?
