Default STS turbo question

Just started my truck up with the sts turbo and somthing is screwy. When you bring up the rpm's up around 3500 and up the rubber elbow at the intake collapses then as the rpm's come down it opens back up. What in the hell is going on? Please help. Thanks

That is normal.Just sitting there it will collapse the outer side. When driving it won't because boost pressure is going in.The elbow is made not to expand but give's a bit on vacuum.

Thanks slowhawk, I was a little nervous when I saw it collapse, also after i run it up to about 4500 rpm and then let off of the pedal I here a couple of real squalls? is this noise from the waste gate?

That's probably the blow off valve, when u build boost and let off the gas, the air pressure has to have somewhere to go so it shoots out the bov, do u have the one that came with the kit?

The only thing that proves is that the engine runs on vacume until boost hits. With the size of the silicone elbow, any LS1 will suck it in for a second even if it was through a cold air intake.
