Default boost on stock intake??

Can a stock ls1 intake handle up around 15lbs?? i have heard rumors of stock intakes craking...just wondering if this is true or not... I was thinking about going with the weiand intake if the stock one will not handle the boost...is this a good idea or not??

Never heard of it. My car has seen 13 pounds with no problems. I definitely know many here had gone well beyond 15 pounds unharmed...

Mike Brown and Steve Turley are running 25-30 lbs of boost on a LS6 intake and haven't had any problems.

so then use the stock one and if it cracks, which I seriously doubt it will, THEN go buy an aluminum one. why fix something that isn't broken???

I would think that you would blow the gasket before you cracked the intake.

Yep, We have been to 30.5psi with no issues, except for the tires.
