Default Supercharger with and XER 228/228

I want to supercharge my car in a few months, but before I do, I wanted to find out if my current cam would work with a blower. The cam is a XER 228/228 .588/.588 on a 112+2 lsa. Would I have to swap my cam out and put in a smaller cam? Also, what would be a good blower to go with for low and mid range power?

it would work but it wouldn't be the best cam to use, on a blower car, you want a high lsa, minimum 114 but preferably 115 or 116.

Any blower will give you good bottom end torque, ATI or Vortech. Opinions vary. Use the search button lots of good infor already discussed already

That cam will have good low and mid range power. The 112 LSA will just (as compared to a 114) be done at a lower rpm.

The reason I don't really want to swap it for a different cam is because I love the way this cam sounds , but if it does come down to it, I just may have to get a cam with a higher lsa. Thanks for the info

In the end, who knows, you might just sacrifice like 10-20rwhp peak, but the midrange will be the same. It's not always about peak hp. Duration is more important than LSA for the most port, duration is what makes the power. If duration was the key then all the race cars out there would be running 115-119 lsa's and very few do.

What kind of power do you want to make?

You can make a lot of power with a lot less cam than that.

I disagree that a wide lsa makes more high rpm power, or more peak power.

LSA is a meaningless number anyway. All that matters is the actual valve events.

I'm looking for around 500-550 hp. I want something that'll kick in pretty good in the low to mid rpm's too.

Do you have the Cam Card valve timing info to post?
Most likely the 112 has overlap.

Thanks for your opinions guys, but this past week, I've been looking into the STS system a little more and I think I've had a change of heart . Thanks for your help though.
